How to Save on Veterinary Costs at VCA Canada Sunshine Coast Pet Hospital
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Scammers …paralysed My dog never apologised, never contributed one cent to her $10,000 surgery and physio. Dr.Tom is worse… told me he was opening a rescue in my name in Cabo where he has a huge house…. stole the money from me…never did anything!!!! Took advantage of me because I love animals. Thanks for your message, and if you want a solution, I’d like the money back that your Veterinarians stole from me, just let me know when you want to send my $10,000 back. Because that’s what I want, a little bit of what I lost and what was stolen from me... I should’ve taken them to court.

Dr. McLash and his team give compassionate and knowledgable care. I truly experience their motto of treating every pet as if it was their own. Thank you for supporting my pets and us through some difficult times.

I cannot recommend this place to anyone. I took my cat in for a surgery consultation. They said they could do it and would send me a price estimate. I waited for 2 months for the estimate. I called multiple times always being told "someone will contact you soon!" I confirmed my phone call and email address to them. I'm unsure if there is a disconnect between reception and vets but either way it makes it very difficult to get vet services done when the vet ignores you.

My awesome pup has had a LOT of things happen over the last four years including recently tearing both his ACL's which required back to back surgeries and a challenging six month recovery. Dr. McLash and his team are fantastic! They have gone over and above on so many occasions providing exceptional support and medical expertise. I simply can't recommend them enough!
