How to Save Money at Alpine Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I recently took my pet to Alpine Animal Hospital, and I couldn't be more impressed with the experience. From the moment we walked in, the staff was welcoming and attentive. Dr. Singh and Dr. Ryan are amazing doctors! The veterinarian took the time to thoroughly explain the examination process, addressing all my concerns with patience and expertise. It was evident that they genuinely care about animals and their well-being. My pet received excellent care and prices were affordable! Overall, the professionalism and compassion of the entire team made this a wonderful experience. I highly recommend Alpine Animal Hospital to any pet owner looking for quality care!

TLDR; Please go anywhere else. They nearly killed my cat through neglect and substandard practice. This place doesnt respect you, your pets, thier workers, or themselves. Ive been a customer of Alpine for 8 years for two cats. Reception from the office manager (name starts with a D) has always been atrocious, she has always been standoffish and short with anyone who comes in, including myself, as I witnessed this many many times in reception. Dr Singh is a fantastic surgeon, truly, but has awful bedside manner and clinical skills. Very blunt, very dispassionate and very tired all the time. Both of them together make a team who seems like they are just coming to work to work, and have no passion or pride in thier work, and are barely doing thier jobs. Dr Ryan, Dr Julianne, and the many nurses including but not limited to Amanda were, on the other hand, amazingly kind and lovely individuals, communicating clearly and wonderfully. This was up until 2023. Something happened at this vet at the end of last year/start of 2024 and there was a mass exodus of staff and services, with all new people joining the ranks this year (2024). I have heard rumors and I wont comment on them, but my own experience has seen the manager D treat all the assistants and Dr Ryan like garbage, so im not surprised. What made me leave and want to warn people off this place was this year my cat was diagnosed with cancer from Dr Ryan's careful analysis and Dr Singh expertly removed her cysts and closed her up. During her recovery, Dr Singh disgnosed her with hyperthyroidism and prescribed her with methmizole and wanted to follow up with testing to determine the correct amount. I found the follow up testing happened only when i pressed for an appointment, and only happened twice over the course of 4 months. One of those times, the testing had to happen twice due to breaking the vials of blood drawn. The methmizole was reduced once, but never again, and I blindly trusted this vet to follow up with me about this and enquire about testing etc. I didnt hear anything from them. And it wasnt until my cat sitter (a vet in her full time job) noticed my cat wasnt the same since the surgery, and was yellow and extremely sick. I went back to Alpine for sub-q fluids and Dr Singh also noticed her colour, but at that point I got a pdf printout of all her records and went to Urban Animal Hospital, downtown. They were amazing, and traced my cat's new LIVER DAMAGE from over prescription of methmizole and incorrect treatment follow ups from lack of blood tests. They gave my cat 2 weeks to live, but that was back in August and she pulled through and is still here now :) Dr Ryan, if you see this, you were/are amazing and I wish you all the best! I know you're only temp there, and hope you get full time work somewhere kind. TLDR; Please go anywhere else. This place doesnt respect you, your pets, thier workers, or themselves.

The doctor promised to give my dog a medication, but when I asked a medication in reception, a doctor refused to give it. He said he can't help my 16 years old minituature pincher without X ray and blood test, even it's very clear that my dog has heart problem and the doctor may help to my dog, if he willing to do it.This vet service is only after money, the doctor doesn't care about my senior dog. Poor service. Not recommended.

Great experiences at this veterinary practice over the last 4 years with my large dog. All appointments and treatments are decided with care and they talk about and consider cost prior to making decisions so I've never been surprised by a bill.

The staff and Dr were so genuine, kind, and knowledgeable. They had affordable prices and didn't make me feel dumb for asking a million questions as a new mum! Happy to go back!
