How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Dogwood Veterinary Hospital
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

I recently had to make the difficult decision to put my cat to sleep. The staff were incredibly kind, compassionate, and respectful throughout the entire process. They made a heartbreaking experience a little bit easier. I highly recommend them.

I wouldn't take my pets anywhere else! I've always had nothing but great experiences when we've had to go to the vet!

Wonderful and accommodating staff. Great to teach pet parents how to assess and treat for minor issues. The staff there truly love and respect animals.

By far the absolute BEST vet clinic! Our dogs have been seeing Dr. Kendall and Dr. Doeschner since we moved to Campbell River 2 years ago, and I will never go anywhere else. Everyone at the clinic is amazing. They are friendly, super knowledgeable, and empathetic. They genuinely care about their patients and clients. We recently lost one of our dogs to cancer, and they were there for us every step of the way. Our other dog is a bit accident-prone and has allergies, so we're at the clinic with her pretty regularly, even though she hates going to the vet. It can be a bit of a rodeo most days, but they are always so patient and gentle. I can't thank them enough for everything they've done and continue to do for us!

We had to make the incredibly difficult decision to euthanize our beloved dog. He was 13 and in pain. The Veterinarian and her staff were very compassionate. The listened to us and didn't dismiss our concerns about our Oliver's quality of life. When we called we got an appointment for the same day, at the end of the day. We held him and were given time to say goodbye. Thank you, for taking care of us and our boy. Your compassionate care will not be forgotten.
