How to Save Money at Southpointe Pet Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
Absolutely 100% an amazing clinic. They are very friendly and the clinic is very clean. The staff is wonderful and kind, and if I had any concerns about my rescues, they were always there to lend me hand and addressed anything that needed to be done. If I had questions, they answered it. They are very quick with emails and phone calls. I will continue to bring my rescues (gimpy and cynder) and any other family animals I have to them. Dr. Cheyenne and the staff took care of my beardies and gave me more education and always checked up on them and see how they are doing and a lot of clinics don’t do that. I appreciate everything they have done and continue doing!

Amazing vet clinic. We’ve had years of problems with our 15 year old Bernease mountain dog having skin issues we’ve never felt more cared for than visiting with DR.Wendy. Our previous vet sent us home with the advise to put him down and had basically given up on him. It’s been 2 months now and our dog has started to return to his previous self again. The clinic is always checking up on cooper through phone and email, they are great when he is in clinic and treat him so great. It’s the first vet our dog is not scared to go to. We live pretty far away from the clinic and it is worth the hour drive both ways for the best treatment for our pets.

Dr. Blaise and all of the techs treated my dog like family when he came in with intestinal problems. I am so grateful for all the care and love they gave him. I'd been visiting the clinic off and on before that (I move a lot), and they have always been great to him

I called in to see if maybe I can reorder my doggos medication but when I phoned and gave my mom’s phone number to pull up her file. She said right BELLA with an attitude that she knows more than me. I said her name is Stella and not Bella. She said oh well I couldn’t see properly. She said she couldn’t discuss anything about Stella with me since I’m not in the file. Fine enough but I hated her attitude with me, so told her I’ll let mom know about Bella. Maybe this vet isn’t for my German shepherd: STELLA. I wasn’t being rude to her so I confused with her attitude.

We’ve been taking our dog Baxter to this clinic for 8 or 9 years now, since we first rescued him. All of the vets and technicians and support staff are absolutely amazing. They’re patient and kind and compassionate and understanding. They truly go above and beyond in everything they do. I love that they really seem to know all the dogs and owners. They have great hours and respond to emails right away. I was worried when our regular vet (that we love) told us that she’d be transitioning to hospice care primarily and we wouldn’t be able to see her as much in the clinic anymore. However, the new vet that she paired us with is just as smart and caring as she is. Love this clinic ❤️
