How to Save Money at Williams Road Animal Hospital

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I brought my kitten to Williams road animal hospital to get vaccinated and spayed. Surgery went great and when I had any concerns post surgery they told me to bring my cat in for a free check up. My cat is in great condition and she is healthy. Very affordable prices, super clean clinic and the doctors and staff are amazing! Highly recommend this clinic :)

We had an easy time trying to find an appointment with Dr. Raj for our 9 week old rescue pup. He has been coughing at night and it sounded quite bad almost like pneumonia. Dr. Raj was very knowledgeable and calm in telling me what he thinks is going on with my pup and how to go about resolving it. The whole process made me feel like my pup was in good care. Highly recommend Williams road animal hospital!

Dr. Rajan and his team saved the life of my cat, Kiwi, a female exotic longhair 1 & a half years old. Kiwi was unknowingly being left in the washing machine and was being washed and spun for the whole cycle of 50 minutes. When she was taken out, she was crying at the top of her voice. She seldom even meows usually. We immediately took her to the nearest vet, but it was past 7 pm and the office was closing with all vets gone. And our usual vet closes even earlier. Luckily, we asked the reception at the vet that was closing if there was any other nearby vet still open. Dr. Rajan at the William Road Animal Hospital immediately took my cat and revived her. It took over 3 hours to bring Kiwi’s temperature back to normal. So, the office was working overtime until 10:30 pm (their regular closing time is at 10:00 pm). We could feel the love and care of the whole team, it was not just doing their work. And the knowledge and experience in doing the right thing at the right time helped to bring Kiwi back completely. She is now as cute and active as usual and luckily without any internal damage as all the tests show, all thanks to the William Road Animal Hospital acting fast and doing the right thing at the right time. Her full recovery all happened within 2 and a half days with hospitalization and medication. We still need to continue with her medication for the next few days. A big thank you to Dr. Rajan and team for their dedication, love for animals and knowledge. Of course, this all comes with a cost, but price estimates were all given ahead with all the detail breakdowns. And I believe most pets parents would like to bring back their beloved pets at all cost if faced with similar situation. I would strongly recommend William Road Animal Hospital to all animal lovers. Attached picture was taken this morning 4 days after the accident.

As a rescuer and trainer I can attest that this is a fantastic veterinarian! They fit me in at the end of the day, even though I had never seen them before. They have very clean facility, the girl at the front counter was very welcoming and the veterinarian was very knowledgeable and capable. Their prices are absolutely fantastic, some of the lowest I've ever seen and it is so amazing to have a veterinarian open till 10:00 p.m.
