Thankful for the quick and timely attention. My dog couldn't walk properly, apparently due to a blow to the spine and they quickly took her for X-rays to rule out damage. They also performed blood tests with which we were able to detect an infection and internal inflammation and treat it. Since it is an emergency hospital, the costs are not cheap but the attention was definitely excellent, very kind and loving, thank you!

I recently visited this emergency vet clinic with my senior dog, who had a large lump near her rib and was experiencing severe symptoms including not eating, dry retching, vomiting, and lethargy. I called ahead to see if this warranted an emergency visit and was told to come in. Upon arrival, there was one patient ahead of us and two more that came in after us. While I understand that emergencies can be busy, the way our situation was handled left much to be desired. When it was our turn, the vet began by asking me what was wrong. As I started to explain, he cut me off saying, “I’m sorry if I come across rude because I’m going to be cutting you off. It just we’re very busy and as you noticed there’s a dog who ate chocolate cake. I’m not trying to be rude but I have to make this short so I could make sure to attend to everyone.” While I appreciate the importance of time management in a busy clinic, his manner was abrupt and unprofessional. I would like to add that if he felt the need to preface his statements with an apology for being rude, then he was clearly aware of his approach. However, being aware of his rudeness yet choosing to continue in that manner demonstrates a lack of intent to communicate respectfully. Regardless of the rudeness, I hoped that as long as he addressed my dog's issue, I could overlook it. Despite my repeated explanations about the pain caused by the lump and warnings from another guest that my dog might try to bite due to discomfort, the vet did not initially examine the lump. Instead, he started discussing treatment options. Later, he attempted to handle my dog roughly by grabbing the area where she felt pain. When she tried to bite, he reacted with visible disgust and said, “Ugh, she bites?!” I told him that her reaction was due to pain, but he seemed irritated and told me to hold her face, which I did. After this, he went to the back to consult with other doctors. I overheard their conversation, which was about personal matters rather than focusing on my dog's urgent condition. When a staff member returned with the invoice, they read it without explaining the medical terms or the necessity of the charges. I questioned why my dog needed to be kept overnight, especially since the initial vet indicated that immediate results were not required. The staff member could only say, “I’m not sure, that’s what the doctors recommended.” Thankfully, my brother, who works in the medical field, helped me understand the charges. Ultimately, the second staff member was careful and respectful when administering treatment, which I appreciated. However, the overall experience was marred by the vet’s unprofessional behavior and lack of empathy. It felt as though his focus was more on profit rather than genuinely addressing my dog’s needs. I hope the clinic takes this feedback seriously and works on improving both the communication and care provided.
