Makes you wish you never got pet insurance in the first place.
You cannot resolve anything when calling because there are no licensed insurance brokers to speak with. It takes months to get a response and an eventual denial of service because they fail to acknowledge the veterinary doctors files in there emails. Dragging out the process that you wish you never had insurance in the first place.

Trupanion is the BEST!
I have had dogs all my life. My last Lab had a lot of issues so when we got our newer lab, I was determined to get insurance on him. I selected Trupanion and SO glad I did. They are friendly, helpful and when I submit a claim, they are timely and communicative and efficient. I LOVE working with Trupanion and recommend to all my friends with puppies or kitty cats. I can't say enough good things about them. Taking Tank to the vets is never a fun thing, but Trupanion takes the sting out of the vet bills and always with a positive attitude! Great job!

So thankful we took out this insurance.
When my beautiful, healthy, four year-old labrador started twitching and vomiting and gagging we had no idea what could be causing it. We also noticed her pupils were not reacting to light. My vet referred us to a Veterinary neurology specialist. It took two MRIs and a spinal puncture to diagnose Maya’s life-threatening illness. We were very lucky to get a diagnosis because most dogs with her condition are critical or dead before they are diagnosed. Trupanion paid a great part of the expenses, making us able to save her life. She is alive and doing well and we are grateful.

Great experience, friendly service
We had a great experience with our first claim with Lemonade. We switched to Lemonade last spring due to their having just one annual deductible and covering standard care like vet visits and vaccinations, which our previous insurance did not offer. In this instance, our dog got very sick and had to spend a night in the emergency hospital. She had to have a lot of testing done and the vet bill was very high. Lemonade was super responsive and seemed like they truly cared. They are very thorough, so be sure to have all relevant documents read to go when you are making the claim. They covered the full amount of our dogs policy less the co-insurance and deductible. Easy process!

I made my first claim after two years…
I made my first claim after two years of having this insurance. I received e-mail notice of claim acceptance within 1 day,and received a check within about a week. I was also informed that any dental disease claims would be denied as pre-existing (did not apply at this time) since the vet notes mentioned very mild tartar. It said that if my dog gets a dental cleaning done, that pre-existing condition will be removed. This seems ridiculous for very mild tartar, but I do appreciate the heads-up. It also said that if she ever has an orthopedic problem, it would not be covered until they got vet records from the 6 month orthopedic waiting period. Since they just got vet records for the current claim, they should review and document those now, instead of possibly requesting them 5 years from now.
