I bought insurance for my pup not long after I adopted him. I never expected to have to use it, but because it was affordable I figured it was worth having to have a bit more peace of mind. Little did I know how wonderful it would be until after a year of having it and never using it. Healthy Paws has been absolutely incredible and I would highly recommend them. A neighbor dog kept jumping on my dog which lead to us going to multiple vets and him having multiple tests. He had to have an MRI, spinal tap and two sets of blood work plus meds. He also had chiropractor appointments and treatments from them. Never once did Healthy Paws give me an issue or try to not pay something that was covered. Even though we racked up thousands of dollars in bills they paid them quickly and even emailed me to check in on my boy to see how he was. They were always responsive to every question I had and were very caring. This whole ordeal has been a thousand times less stressful because of having insurance and also because of Healthy Paws care and responsiveness. I was afraid they would try to get out of paying as much as possible, but they have actually done the opposite and paid for more than I expected. They review claims quickly and send payments quickly. I'm so thankful I got insurance and have Healthy Paws for my little guy.

If you don’t get pet insurance from the…
If you don’t get pet insurance from the time your dog is born then they won’t cover anything. I got insurance with them when my miniature schnauzer was 8 months old and they consider things like vomiting a temporary pre existing condition and if he has it again it can become permanent etc. They don’t make it clear that even without a formal diagnosis they can prevent things from being covered even when you don’t have a known problem yet. They also will make up any excuse to not cover something like I submitted a claim for my dogs specialist appointment for pancreas issues and I almost wasn’t going to since they decided he has pancreatitis prior to ever being diagnosed but I did. They came back and told me it won’t be covered not because it’s a pancreas issue but because he had giardia 10 months ago and the specialist listed it in his history. That had nothing to do with why he was there and then they make it a permanent preexisting condition. It’s a lot of BS and I don’t recommend them.

I have been using Healthy Paws since I adopted my first cat in 2018, and they always provide the quickest response and claim processing. All you need to do is to provide the invoice and the medical records that you get from the vet. They usually process within 10 days, and if you have provided enough documents, there would be no back and forth on the coverage. They always cover as much as they can, and all would list clearly on the claim statement. I adopted Sammy last year, keep choosing Healthy Paws. He was terribly ill last month, but with Healthy Paws, I did not hesitate to take him to the vet and did every exam that we need to save his life. He is now getting better. I filed two claims and both went through quickly. Healthy Paws really support us pets' parents as reliable insurance.
