Spot Pet insurance was useless
Spot Pet insurance was useless. I can’t believe we switched to SPOT from ASPCA insurance, which was always stellar. I will never choose one just because less expensive monthly premium again. SPOT wields that pre-existing condition like a sharp-edged sword. Our dog had pre-existing mammary tumors. She was elderly when we got her and we acknowledged that. She had eight teets and the two lower showed no mammary growth. Over a one-month period one of these lower teets developed a massive rapid swelling that showed as a mammary tumor but our vet noted the swelling was due to infection. She was treated for infection. Over following three weeks she was treated again at emergency and other locations. Edema from same sudden swollen lower teet area caused edema in leg so she could not walk. The inability to walk was what forced us to put her down - a secondary reaction to infection in a sudden rapid tumor! Not only did SPOT not pay ONE PENNY on this claim, but I was told by a customer service rep on the phone (who slurred his words/sounded drunk - don’t know if he was 🤷♀️ but pretty frustrating - fyi SPOT ), that SPOT will not pay for her Euthanasia and her cremation because she died from a pre-existing condition! So now I’m appealing the claim which is a HUGE hassle during a heartbreaking week. ASPCA pet insurance paid our other dogs euthanasia and cremation without hassle or question. They are a far superior company with, by the way, truly sympathetic and kind and articulate customer service reps. Kindness means a lot when your dog is dead, okay? Had SPOT pet insurance showed one modicum of kindness, sympathy, etc and had SPOT paid even a small portion of the claims I would not be writing this review. This company should be ashamed of itself.

Great pet insurance
Great pet insurance! Healthy Paws is very responsive, timely, and helpful. We would have faced veterinary challenges without our dog's coverage. Highly recommended!

This company will find a way to deny…
This company will find a way to deny any claim. They label everything as preexisting. I submitted over $2000 in claims and they paid $125. They even denied euthanasia drugs!!!! Calling them always results in 20+ minutes on hold and then being told someone will address your issues and email you. I will not recommend them to anyone.

Great to work with!
It is easy to submit claims, and the communication is great. Most of the time they are very responsive, and when there is a delay, they let us know. Customer service is great as well.

Took almost 2 months to settle a claim
Took almost 2 months to settle a claim, then came with a list of exclusions. Some even made up after the start of the policy and conditions my dog had never been diagnosed or treated. If your dog has ever been to a vet, good luck.
