I am so happy to of found health…
I am so happy to of found health insurance for my pet. Our pets are like our children and to ensure they’re covered which financially makes sense and assists us, especially in todays economy is so relieving. Thankfully my in laws informed us of it and the company after we rescued our pup and soon after needed to use it!

Would recommend despite a few challenges
The good: Phones are answered immediately, 24/7. Submitting claims requires only a single email. The service offers valuable peace of mind for pet owners. The bad: The policies have some fine-print that give them loopholes to avoid some responsibility. I wish I had checked whether something would be covered beforehand - our vet who we've trusted for years strongly recommended surgery for our dog, but Trupanion opted not to cover it as it was "preventative" even though the vet emailed them stating otherwise. Overall the service still offers peace of mind, and I have been very thankful to have it. The one change I wish they'd make is allow the "Claims Adjusters" to join phone calls to better understand the situations; presently it feels like they read an invoice with limited info and somewhat arbitrarily opt to cover costs or not. Despite this, though, I would still recommend this for any pet owner.

I signed up with ManyPets USA
I signed up with ManyPets USA, because they were rated 5 stars by Forbes Advisory and they had over 90% great or excellent reviews. At this point I do not have experience with claims, because I just signed up. The sign up process was friendly and easy. The only thing they did not have was my dogs exact breed, Deutsch Drahthaar.

Flexible Insurance Options
We chose ManyPets when comparing pet insurance companies due to it's reasonable prices as well as the flexibility to choose your own priorities and parameters. The website made it extremely easy to adjust your desired deductible and percent coverage and determine how it will affect your monthly cost. There was flexibility in options, and the website was easy to use.

Good insurance, but read the fine print
Communicative insurance company, but as I'm learning, make sure to read the fine print. I appreciate how quickly Trupanion answers phone calls and their 24/7 chat. Be aware that your exam fees aren't covered if you have to take your pet to the emergency hospital. If you're in Ontario, note that taxes (which are substantial for us) are also not covered. I'm still happy with the service, but sharing because I know I would have appreciated knowing this before I signed up! I'm not sure that this would be different from any other company though, so definitely check Trupanion out at least for their excellent customer service.
