Pet Insurance Saves Lives!
Pet insurance saves lives! I hope you never need to use it, but Healthy Paws makes the claims process completely painless--you upload records and itemized bills, and they send you a reimbursement quickly. This adorable little girl endured two trips to the ER and will need surgery to recover from an unexpected birth defect. I'm not sure I could cover the cost alone, but with their help (and kind support, always asking how she's doing!), we can get through this.

Do not switch to Fetch if you're already insured.
Considering pet insurance? Do NOT sign with FetchByTheDodo. After adopting a cat from Oregon Humane Society in June, we were incentivized to set up Fetch plans for all of our cats, who were then insured by a pricier company. So we did. Weeks later, our entire household was infected by a parasite that the poor cat brought home. Thankfully he's better now, but our other cats aren't. Fetch has denied every claim related to this parasite by labeling the infections as "pre existing." We're lucky to have never needed to use our past pet insurance. The last time any of our cats needed a vet visit was 2018. No conditions or illnesses, as documented by our previous insurer. Fetch is able to justify denial because we don't have recent vet records. We did not know that any illness we unwittingly brought home with our new cat would not be covered. We should not have been advised to switch over without also having been communicated the risks. And because we switched, our previous insurer has told us they may not "take us back." There isn't much we can do at this point aside from being vocal about our experience with Fetch and to encourage others not to sign on. This is not a superior pet insurance provider. Don't let The Dodo's animal-obsessed image or their reasonable prices fool you.

Highly Recommend
I’ve had no problems with Embrace at all. I adopted my dog from the humane society not knowing what I was getting other than he has allergies. I knew pet insurance wouldn’t cover the allergies since they’re pre-existing but I got it anyway because I can’t afford emergency surgery or an ACL repair, or any kind of organ failure. It’s a good thing I did! This dog is the best dog I’ve ever had, but he can be a very naughty boy. I’m so happy that Embrace has been so kind, reimbursing me $800 of the $1000 I’ve spent on emergencies in the last 5 months. Highly Recommend!

Worst company I have ever dealt with…
If you consider a dog having tartar at every vet visit a pre existing condition you’re nothing but a scam and your explanation means nothing other than your excuse not to pay out a claim. If you find me any dog who hasn’t had tartar from the minute they are born would be a miracle as even humans go to a dentist 2-3 times a year to clean their teeth and we brush and floss. Either way increasing premiums and denying claims based on the inevitable is essential a crime in my books. You’ve taken approximately $15-20k of my money for both my pets with basically hardly any claims and when the time matters you have loopholes to make the position of owing a pet difficult while you profit. I will not test with this answer and raise the issues with pet insurance to ensure pet owners aren’t continuously scammed

Average at Best
The quality of the customer service people is average. They were not well equipped to answer questions or resolve an issue. Several days later I received an unsolicited call from them disguised as a welcome call but meant to increase coverage. I'm sadly locked in here with 2 pets but would leave if it were easier.
