Bad experience !
It is great that there are so many good reviews about Pumpkin. But I had to cancel my cats membership because of not being reimbursed for a $625 bill and $65 vet bill since June of this year ! Constantly calling and getting same excuses that their software has been updated,blah blah blah….. It’s not acceptable ! I pay for this insurance and can’t get reimbursed cause of some soft wear issue ????!!!! So I cancelled and will give this company a zero rating !!! Also they didn’t even ask why I wanted to cancel, what was the issue….very bad bad customer service !!!!

Beware of rate increases
They paid the claims in a timely manner over the course of my first year with them. However, when it came time to renew for year two, they raised my premium for my two dogs by over $40 a month which increased my annual premium by about $480! In my view, it appears that the initial year's lower rate was a ploy to get me to sign up with them. When I complained about such a large increase, I received a condescending email from them saying they "understand it (premium rate increases) can be frustrating" and that I could buy less coverage if I wanted a lower premium. They also blamed the rate on many factors, including inflation, policy changes and the underwriter (American Modern Insurance Group) who determines the base rate. Too bad they have no say in what they charge, huh? To me, it's a bait (lower initial rate)_ and switch (2nd year large rate increase).

My little guy was extremely sick and had to go in for some routine test. Pumpkin true to the word, Covered 90% of his expenses. We were ever so thankful I am an older woman living on a fixed income.

Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. We set our account up for auto renewal. They apparently changed payment platforms which stopped us from auto-renewing within our first year of service, and let our account expire after sending us two emails (one of which told us WE HAD AUTO-RENEWED). They told us our only option was to start a new policy, which would restart our waiting periods for serious injuries. Decided to switch providers after this terrible experience.

Great insurance left another company…
Great insurance left another company because they didn’t cover much. Great customer service that you can actually speak to if you wanted and even if you do email they respond quick. Everyone I dealt with was always very nice and helpful and very easy website to navigate. I tell everyone about pumpkin when they ask.
