Don’t buy
HATE HEALTHY PAWS. DON’T BUY. I started insurance when my dog was 8wks. He’s had health issues, mostly stomach and allergiy-related. They raise my rates $10 every year I use a lot of insurance. Isn’t the point of buying insurance early that you’re protected? I hate it but don’t have much of a choice as he has preexisting conditions now.

Excellent Company
Ok, this is my second time writing a review for many pets. The first time I rated them 5 stars due their outstanding customer service. Let me just say this, they deserve this 5 star as well due to the speedy response that I received from filing my first claim. I filed a claim on Monday, November 28 and they immediately sent a email confirming that they received the claim. Wednesday, November 30, I woke up to a email confirming that my claimed was approved and the reimbursement was also in my acct. I have read the reviews from others bragging about how fast they are with responding to claims and I was in disbelief, but I am here to tell you that it is totally true. Thank you so much Many Pets for your outstanding customer service!

Not what you would expect from insurance
I have had Embrace for a few years and have never had to submit a claim, the only thing they did was increase my rate each year under the guise of my pet getting older. They don’t cover what you really need such as a yearly visit, vaccines and routine bloodwork or a dental cleaning. Plus you have to buy into a seperate plan for that. As your dog ages the premium goes up too. I have cancelled my policy and will be saving the $180.00 per month they just raised it to without the "extra"coverage" for the routine care. Also, be mindful of what states pet insurance covers because Embrace raised my rates and explained they did an inquiry of my state and said my premium needed to be adjusted because of where I lived and at that time raised it from $75.00/mo to $125.00/mo and I just was informed three days ago it will now be $180.00/mo. I was trying to protect my dogs health, but that didn't work. Don't be fooled by all the great ratings because they are all the same. I should have listened to myself before spending all this money for insurance I thought would be useful. Very disappointed in the way I got sucked in. The shelters and streets are full of animals people couldn't keep due to not being able to keep up with vet bills or the cost of pet insurance.

Pumpkin was so wonderful in August…
Pumpkin was so wonderful in August (2022) when I turned in my claim for my family’s sweet senior rescue Jose (13.5 yr old, 3.8 lb chihuahua), after he fell ill and ultimately died. We were devastated. A week later, I turned in everything I had, but I misplaced a receipt and did not realize it until I was told the Pumpkin team contacted the ER vet and his regular vet and found it. I was so very grateful. After losing Jose, I assumed I would have to pay the full year of his insurance coverage (we only had him for 7.5 short months). But they canceled his policy about a week after my claim was closed. This insurance company is the real deal! If we do decide to get another dog, I will 1,000% use Pumpkin insurance!!!

I would rate Trupanion 10 stars if I could! Insurance is one of those things you hate paying for if you don’t need it but when you do and it is as good as theirs you are so thankful you have it! Getting this insurance on my dogs as soon as I got them as puppies was one of the best decisions I have made! My beloved Boston Terrier was on lifelong allergy medication that was covered at 90% every month. This past spring she was diagnosed with a brain tumor and saw neurology and oncology and received stereotactic radiation therapy, none of which I could have easily paid for otherwise. She was only 7 years old and I really was hoping this could give her a chance since she still had a pretty good quality of life. The same week she was going for her radiation, our other dog got a foreign body obstruction and was in the ICU for 5 days! Trupanion made this stressful time manageable for us since we knew we could choose to take care of our pets with the best healthcare and not go broke doing it. Unfortunately our Boston Terrier ultimately did not survive her cancer but when I submitted her last claim Trupanion paid it out and sent a separate email with condolences and an automatic closure of her account which was amazing as I didn’t have to call and talk to anyone about this sensitive matter. Trupanion is an amazing company. Yes their premiums occasionally go up but they have paid me way more than I ever paid them due to the issues that came up with my dogs. The few times I have engaged with their customer service has always been pleasant and helpful. I am so thankful for this company and will always sing their praises!
