Great idea to purchase pet insurance

My two year old Aussiedoodle broke his canine tooth, requiring a root canal and cap placement. Filing my insurance claim was easy, and company feedback was admirable. Wish my own health insurance was as good as my dogs.

Reimbursement nightmare…

Getting reimbursed for claims has become an absolute nightmare even for medications that they have covered repeatedly. I have been waiting for days for a manager to call me back and address my frustration. My dog is 14 years old and has pre existing conditions so I am miserable and trapped. My monthly cost is going up $30 as of January. Not happy.

Happy we went with PetsBest

We went with PetsBest after extensive research. The price, coverage features and reviews are what made us choose them. Now we have used them for multiple claims, which have all been processed and approved quickly (even though they state 20-40 days for processing—mine were done much faster). Next year I might go with a smaller deductible for my “problem child”.

Poor communication and handling of…

Poor communication and handling of insurance claims. The following message was sent 85 days after the initial claim was filed, and 5 days prior to expiration of initial claim (during a Thanksgiving week): Thank you for sending us your pet insurance Claim. To complete your Claim, we need your help by providing us with the following documentation: All of [pet's] medical records since joining your family (view an example medical record here). Your veterinary hospital will provide these documents to you and many are happy to send them on your behalf. A clear invoice for the claim you are submitting (view an example invoice here). The one we received was partially obscured. So that we may continue our review of the Claim, please provide us with the requested information. If we have your veterinary clinic’s information, we will send a request on your behalf. However, a follow up with your veterinary clinic on your part may be necessary to make sure that we are provided with the requested information. If [pet] was seen at any other clinics, please provide the name and contact details of these clinics and we are happy to request additional medical records on your behalf.

After signing up for Spot I received a phone call from Dan making sure I understood the policy we chose. He was fantastic and answered all questions.
