Buyer Beware

Buyer Beware When I inquired about Trupanion insurance, the rep on the phone was wonderful. What they don't tell you, is that anything you say to your vet during the waiting period will be noted and used against you as a pre-existing condition. My puppy ate a sock and I brought him to the vet on 1/4/23 (this was my first day of accidental coverage) and on 1/5/23 he needed surgery to remove the sock. Trupanion denied my claim stating that it was prior to my coverage for accidents and it wasn't because coverage began on the 4th. They are calling it a pre-existing condition and will never cover that type of claim. Research other pet insurance companies and talk to people who have Trupanion before signing with them. Never ask your vet anything. When we first got my puppy, I thought he was itching a lot. I asked the vet about it and the vet made that notation. The vet told me to try different food (which was not noted). The itching stopped. Since I asked the vet about the itching, Trupanion noted this and stated in my pets summary that if something happens with itching it may not be covered. If you have Trupanion, you cannot talk to your vet (vets write notes of what you say and leave it at that) or else it will be considered a pre-existing condition. Trupanion does not tell you anything negative when you call to inquire about the insurance. I am very unhappy with Trupanion. I never had pet insurance before because I really didn't think any pet insurance would really cover anything. I'm thinking I was right to begin with:( Amy LaGrangeville, NY

Lifesaving pet insurance!

My dog Annabelle and I have been with Petsbest for a few years now and it's been nothing short of a life saver. Anna didn't have health problems at the beginning but she was getting older and I wanted her to be covered and safe. She ended up having some health concerns a while after our coverage and we were at the vet pretty frequently. Every time I submitted a claim it came back approved. I've never once had an issue filing, and ive had some expensive visits. Going to the vet now isn't financially stressful anymore and I know I'll be covered. I have a policy that covers 90% and unlimited vet visits. I do pay a high monthly premium but Anna is worth it. Plus she's a bully breed so you pay based on breed. There is usually a wait for claims as well. Sometimes it's a week and others take 3 weeks to a month for reimbursement. The high premium and wait time is worth it. One other thing, your dog should be in good health and you have a 6 month period for an illness to be covered. Its all on their website. Highly recommend Petsbest insurance.

Highly recommend Furkin Pet Insurance

If your having doubts about getting Furkin pet insurance just read the Policy Document Online and compare. I highly recommend Furkin and have premium plans for both of my new fur babies. (Tango & Cash) My monthly payments are 15% less and my deductible is 50% less than other companies. I chose Furkin because while they do cover exam fees, they do not cover routine wellness/annual exams when your pet is healthy. For all other eligible accidents, illnesses, and emergencies that require a vet visit, your exam fee is included in coverage whereas this is not always the case with other pet insurance companies, and have pre-approval forms for expensive procedures you may be able to pay up-front. just snap a pic of the pre-approval form, email it to them, and wait 48 hours for approval so you only pay 20% out of pocket when approved.
