Best Pet Insurance
My Ellie Mae has a large lipoma that required a cat scan. Once I paid the bill ($1680.) I submitted the claim form and the paid invoice to Healthy Paws for processing. Within a week I received my refund, (based on the deductible). I find the customer service amazing.

I have not had to use it yet
I have not had to use it yet, so dont really know. However one thing I find difficult is to find my what my plan covers. All I can tell so far is that there is no deductible, but cant find what is and is not covered.

I purchased pet insurance through my…
I purchased pet insurance through my vet for my 1 year old standard poodle about two weeks ago. This was following a vet visit two weeks ago where my dog had issues with his eyes, later confirmed uveitis, and also had issues with regurgitating. He was diagnosed with regurgitation at the time and given a regimen of famotidine and GI diet for this issue. Vet noted no swollen lymph nodes at that time. In the course of a weekend, he stayed about the same and I called the vet about my concerns that the first visit did not adequately address his eye issues. Met with vet again, eye issues were confirmed to be uveitis. Also vet requested to take X-rays due to concerns he may have invested something or have congenital GI issues. We instead found swollen spleen and enlarged heart on X-rays and vet suggested concerns of tick borne illness or cancer. We agreed to test for tick borne pathogens, and he later tested negative. We then discussed that he seemed to be responding well to antibiotics and what else this could be. Agreed to test with lymph cytology, which two days later confirmed lymphoma. At the second vet visit after I had already purchased the TruPanion pet insurance, my 1 year old poodle was confirmed to have swollen lymph nodes. These per vets comments were not swollen at time of first visit where I signed up for insurance. Lymphoma in young dogs is not usual and when it occurs is often very sudden and acute. My dog clearly has acute lymphoma, as he was healthy three weeks ago to best of all our knowledge. Also he was regurgitating but that preexisting the lymphoma sm he had been doing since I first purchased him at 4 months of age. He saw the vet a various amount of times prior to ever becoming sick with lymphoma and you all are still refusing to honor the insurance suggesting it’s a pre-existing condition. Thank goodness my clients aren’t refused treatment with their own health insurances due to “pre-existing conditions” as your company does. Otherwise their treatment could likely never happen and the mental health issues they experience would severely worsen. I have seen so many people since the start of COVID and thankfully never once had to tell them no sorry your insurance e won’t cover your depression treatment or PTSD treatment because based on my clinical impressions it pre-existed the start of COVID. This is a shameful policy, and in my case isn’t even the case. I will NEVER buy pet insurance with your company again and will be a loud advocate against your insurance and your policies.

Robbery
We have been with petplan for 6 years with our relatively healthy cav. We've submitted 3 claims in that time for minor issues. In the 6 years out policy has increased by 1500$/ yr They have no explanation for this except it should increase yearly. The payout for our claims total is about 400$. Truly unacceptable

Very good service
Very good service when I first called to inquire about their coverage and decided to register my dog. Haven't had to use the coverage yet so I don't have any comment to add as of now.
