Great For Labs!!!
Trupanion saved our bacon when our 1 year old chocolate lab ate something that became stuck in his intestines. Easy process and great customer service. Totally worth every penny!!!

Nightmare in the ER - Trupanion
We just got Trupanion. And already they’ve concocted a reason not to reimburse us. Our Corgi is 4 years old. As many dogs he eats things he shouldn’t - sometimes, rarely. Our dog has a foreign object in his intestine. It is a major emergency ! And also an accident. Short story: Trupanion has refused to cover the bill. Our dog is still in the ER operating room and Trupanion does not want to cover any of the costs. We were so surprised. And it is very difficult for us. They told us: “the same or similar activity occurred more than once before your enrollment date. These include eating a plastic ball on September 9th, 2022 and eating salt on the ground and vomiting for 3-4 days on January 27th, 2023. Because these activities are noted before you enrolled, this portion of the claim can’t be covered.” To be clear, pieces of a ball were accidentally ingested. And he also ate some street salt. That’s right, eating salt, once, is apparently “a pre-existing condition”. Now you know the truth regarding their coverage. Oh and yes the sales people are so kind and nice and told us that yes, everything is covered if it’s an accident…. Buyer beware, Trupanion plays very fast and loose with their definition of ‘accident’ and ‘pre-existing condition’... Wow what a waste of money. We’re gonna to look for other coverage. We can’t imagine there’s anything worse out there. We feel so bad and our pet is still in the ER.

They react instantly with our vet hospital. As soon as I am up at the desk to check out, they call them and get my claim verified right away. I also receive email messages at the same time letting me know what is going on with my claim. I can concentrate on my dog's needs and have no stress. Thank you Trupanion.

We purchased a Aussie doodle mini from a reputable breeder. We got Molly at 8 weeks old weight less than 4 pounds. At 12 weeks Molly ended into emergency surgery. She had a malformation into a stomach which explain she did not gain any weight and was under developing. I had purchased dog insurance ASA I had her. Thanks to that the surgery was covered and she had to do a second exploratory one just before Xmas. Also covered. Since than I have refer many new dog owner to trupanion insurance. However, when walking your dog you don’t have a pen and pencil to write name down. I am sure some are taking advantage of my with my own puppy. It doesn’t matter where you get your puppy/dog it all depends on their genetic. I just happen to have a little girl that needed us and we cannot love her more. Yes, it is expensive for seniors on limited income but the love we get from Molly is worth everything.

I have to say this is the best dog…
I have to say this is the best dog insurance I’ve ever had highly recommend trupanion they have been wonderful to work with, and my Italian greyhound is making a full recovery after three surgeries on his broken leg, which started 5/5/2022 and is still going on. I always highly recommend trupanion. I love how you can choose your deductible, and they made a traumatic experience smooth sailing with the vet and not having to fund the surgeries and get reimbursement completely outstanding.
