Don't pay a single premium to this…
Don't pay a single premium to this company. For a small claim, they will request so much information from every vet that your dog has ever seen that the vet cannot reasonably respond. Then they deny payment of the claim and blame the vet.

Caring company
We have been with ASPCA pet insurance for about 9 years. I truly feel they do care about our pets, our family members. When one of our kitties passed away last year, they sent us flowers; that meant so much to us. The only negative thing I have to say is, sometimes it takes a little longer to get claims completed but it’s usually during the summer months, when more pets are getting injured. We are so glad we found ASPCA pet insurance.

Long term customer wants transparency
We have been a long-term, loyal customer of Trupanion, we purchased pet insurance when our large breed dog was a puppy 9 years ago. I have always promoted this company with the utmost respect, honesty and loyalty, as we appreciated the service greatly. This service included timely responses to questions, and a 2 day turn around for payout of claim submissions. While I appreciate as a senior dog ages, insurance goes up, we were recently not notified that trupanion was switching to a new “manual” reimbursement model, and in the same week our insurance price went up 25%. We now have to wait 5 weeks for reimbursement opposed to 2 days. For our elderly mother who has a dog, this has left a significant financial burden. Firstly, I do appreciate this is a transition period, but Trupanion was not in any way transparent with the roll out of their new manual system to customers. Secondly, “growing pains” (which the agent just stated were the cause of the delayed transaction) are not how multi-million dollar insurance companies run, if you don’t have the IT, marketing, and payroll support to roll out a new system..DONT. The folks that work for Trupanion, especially in the customer service department are incredibly kind and responsive, and I can only imagine the number of complaints they now have to navigate for a corporate decision that will certainly leave a mark on this company for years to come. You have just lost a significant amount of customers.

I called to add my new kitten I adopted to my current plan. This is my 5th pet with Trupanion! As always, the rep was very friendly and helpful and my new kitty Frankie was signed up in no time!
