Unethical…do not recommend
I’ve had an Embrace Pet Insurance Policy for several years and every claim has been denied. Most recently I took my dog Perry to an Emergency Veterinary Clinic for what was ultimately diagnosed as “Idiopathic Vestibular Syndrome”, a neurological disorder seen in senior dogs. Embrace denied this claim because blood work done during the visit showed the presence of “Azotemia” or Renal Disease, a pre-existing condition. In other words they used the presence of kidney disease to not pay the claim for his new neurological disorder which is totally unrelated. This would be like not paying for cancer care because of the presence of kidney disease. They are completely unethical and I would not recommend Embrace to anyone!

Another rate increase
No experience with customer services or claims, but the rate hikes have me thinking of cancelling. We signed our dog up as a puppy 2 years ago and have never submitted a claim, but our premium keeps going up. Just got notice of another hike coming next month, making Trupanion more expensive than our home insurance.

Best insurance choice
I can't never say enough good things about this pet insurance! They are just GREAT. Efficient, effective and caring. I enrolled my pet, when he was 10 months old, just thinking on sudden emergencies; little did I know that I was going to be dealing with tons of vet bills in the next years. They have paid every single claim without any issue. I just had 1 appeal regarding a deductible, appeal that they efficiently dealt with and refunded my money the same day. Their customer service is excellent! They used to pay me back for claims in 2-3 days. And now, they pay my Veterinary directly, so, I do not need to pay upfront. Just thank you! Recommended 1000%

Terrible customer service and processes
I think this is the worst customer service and pet insurance I have come across. At the time I needed my insurance for my pet, the processes for this company were terrible. After submitting my claim, I was advised it would take 7–10 days to process. After two weeks of not hearing anything, I followed up, only to be advised, "Due to our system upgrade, our processing time is now 4-6 weeks." Why is that my problem? I had to escalate this, only for my claim to be denied. When I challenged the decline, they made "assumptions" on the decline without even contacting me or my vet. When I requested to contact my vet directly to chat with them, they did it at 6 a.m., saying, "I reached out to your vet this morning. I guess they are not open yet." I honestly doubt anything will come of my challenge, and I advise anyone to consider another pet insurance policy than Trupanion. Giving one star feels generous.

A Savior for My Injured Dog!
I want to express my deep appreciation for Healthy Paws, who came to my rescue when my dog was hit by a car. Healthy Paws was absolutely exceptional. Their compassionate customer service team provided invaluable support during a very distressing time. They processed my claim quickly, ensuring immediate medical care for my dog. Healthy Paws covered most of the medical bills through their "direct pay" service. This meant I was not paying all of it out of pocket and they paid the hospital directly. I highly recommend Healthy Paws to any pet owner. Their care, support, and financial assistance was outstanding and made all the difference in my dog's time of need. Bivvy Insurance
This review is for Bivvy. They had the best prices, fastest turnaround, helpful on--line or on phone. So easy and quick filing claims on line, had my money within a couple days. Unfortunately, they went out of business which is so sad. When they closed they suggested using Spot. My insurance with Bivvy was $14 a month, now because my dog has a preexisting condition they won't cover, but still want me to pay $123 a month! I know my dog is older and more prone to vet visits, so I expect his insurance to be more now. All the insurance companies I have received quotes from are close to $100 or over. I am on a fixed income and can't afford that much every month. My dog has Cushings, he has to have blood work every six months which is $365 each visit and his medicine is $138 a month. Maybe Bivvy went down because of so many costly claims and cheap prices, who know, but I sure will miss them. If anywhere out there knows where I can get decently priced insurance or a deal for seniors, please let me know. Hopefully you can comment to our posts.

I heard many negative reviews and decided to give the benefit of the doubt I was paying more for pet insurance than I was for myself. I went to the vet and payed almost $900 and only got $160 back . Not worth it I already pay a lot as it is.

So Glad I Chose Trupanion
For my prior pet, I had a different pet insurance carrier and they were OK, but payouts were small, slow and cumbersome to file. I asked the vet tech caring for my dog what insurance she recommended; she was very enthusiastic about Trupanion.That pet died some years ago, and when I got a new dog, I signed up for Trupanion. At the time, I thought they were a bit expensive and last year, I even considered dropping their insurance, as the premium increases a little yearly. Thank goodness I didn't! I took my dog to the vet earlier this year for tummy issues and it turned out it was Irritable Bowel Disease. He had to be referred to an internist, and testing was prolonged and very expensive. I would have had to go into debt to pay for it all, but Trupanion didn't just step up to the plate, they made the claims process so easy, and they reimbursed directly to my checking account, usually within just a few days of each claim. The contrast with my prior pet insurance was pretty dramatic. After this experience, I'm a Trupanion customer for life!
