Enrolled 7/2023

Enrolled 7/2023, canceled 11/2023. I'm a doctor and used to challenges with insurance providers, standard fare. Collect premiums, deny claims. But this seemed different and I trust USAA implicitly. Website false advertising "we cover all curable pre-existing conditions." $400 claim for allergic reaction/dermatitis. $0 covered. Useless. Absolutely useless.

My dog was admitted to ER and a claim was processed for 1500$. It took less than a minute for it to be approved and paid. My dog was then transferred to the ICU and the bill after 1 day came up to 2900$. Again less than a minute and ot was approved. For anyone out there looking to get an insurance for your dog or cat... dont cheap out Trupanion is worth every penny.

I have to admit I was skeptical about the service in general not specific to Spot but I am now a believer because of Spot. Excellent process and efficient. Very helpful with some unexpected vet bills.

Great customer service

Representative I called to change things in my account was very nice & helpful. Also, it was very easy to follow the directions to send in claim for my dog’s wellness appointment. We’ve already been paid, too.

Scam

Scam. Got a new puppy from breeder and this insurance was given for first month free from our breeder. 3 days home puppy had extreme diarrhea and vomiting. Took to vet and was told puppy had tapeworm. Medications given for this condition. Turned in claim which was denied. Was told no coverage because the tapeworm was caused from puppy swallowing an infected flee. As such the condition was preventable if had been on heart worm treatment . Lol. Can you even give puppy heart worm treatment? Preventable lol. Still can’t stop laughing. Well needless to say we did not extend coverage. Ironically even says covers unexpected vomiting

Better check the fine print!

I read all the great reviews so I was eager to enroll. My dogs are completely healthy but needed their annual checkup/shots and a dental cleaning. I pay $186 a month for my pets and that is taken out immediately from my account without delay, but when it comes to reviewing a claim it has taken almost 3 weeks before ASPCA even looked at it. Now they want a complete history of my pets. I could understand if they are checking for pre-existing conditions, but this claim applies only to the add on benefit of annual shots, teeth cleaning, standard checkup, etc. it has nothing to do with a potential previous health condition plus they are completely healthy. Now after three weeks ASPCA can no longer process my claim without obtaining previous medical records. My pets are not injured or sick so why is the claim on hold??? Also… if you paid for premium services when your pet is seen by a Veterinarian, but then decide to go to a less expensive plan, the entire previous claim made under the premium plan will be applied to the new less coverage plan even though you paid for premium services during your pets visit. Lastly, if you are not satisfied and want to choose a different provider or just cancel a policy, there is no online option and you must contact customer service by email. This tells me they will do everything they can to delay termination of a contract. Who knows how long a response will take… Im sure it will be delayed until after your next premium is deducted..To cancel you also have to provide a reason for canceling…it’s none of their business! If I want to cancel and stop the auto deduction from my credit card or bank it should be straight forward and easy. Others may be happy with this service but I see this as just another big “non profit” scam to separate you from your money without providing quality service.

I love Spot Pet Insurance for how easy it is to use and to file a claim. They are also pretty quick to process and pay. Also if there is anything else they need, they go directly to my Vet. Thank you so much for making it super easy for us!
