Typical Insurance Company
Typical insurance company, has you over the barrel and they take advantage. It has takeen over 60 days to receive refund for claim. Recently, called in to add exam fees to third dogs policy due to the fact that it wasn't there already like my other two pets policies. The exam fees were added to the policy as well as an increase of the deductible. After comparing new policy cost called back to get clarification why the price when up over $300 even before the changes of the policy occured. Was informed that it was due to inflation, the price when up 49.9%. Then the customer service rep realized the new policy added was not permitted in the underwriting and removed the exam fees policy that was just added. This was the mistake of the previous customer care rep made but, regardless apparently it had to be removed. So if it is not allowed how was it added in the first place? Plus it ultimately increased the overall cost and increased my deductible. Then I spoke with a supervisor whos defense was "well I have a policy and just pay it so my pets are covered." Well Sir I am sure you get a substantial discount and did your policy go up 50%,.over $300 for one policy. I have had Pets Best since 2018 and I am definitely going to be searching elsewhere. I never filed a claim until this year 2023 and I wonder if that is another reason why my policy price went up so much. Be wary if you go to Pets Best, I am beyond frustrated and disappointed and thought I had a fair pet insurance. Seems not.
