Many claims, no problems.

I got embrace 5 years ago when he was a pup. Since then, he's had a large number of health issues and embrace has paid every claim as promised, including a couple years where we maxed out benefits. The first year that happened, I expected them to refuse to renew the policy or bump the premium a lot. Didn't happen. If I could give embrace 10 stars, I would.

Nothing is covered under Major Medical Plan

If I could give this company less than 1 star I would. Had their Major Medical Plan for more than 2 years, after a "colleague" suggested that NW is the best pet insurance you can ever have. What a joke -the plan was supposed to cover our 3 pets. Every single time I sent a claim in it was not covered or needed some additional information which in the end resulted in no coverage. It's not insurance it's just junk. They will gladly take your money but don't expect much from them and you will not be disappointed.

Long wait

It took far too long to reach a customer service representative while trying to purchase insurance. Called back multiple times and also had a call drop after spending 30 minutes on the phone.

So disappointed with this company

So disappointed with this company. We read all of the reviews, compared other plans. We were with Nationwide for years, but we’re hoping to get better coverage. They do a great sales pitch. However, when our 1 yr old dog had a yeast infection on his ears due to an allergic reaction from a shampoo, he scratched his body and outside of ears because they were itchy. He then got an atopic infection on outside of ears. It was difficult to resolve as they weren’t sure if it was bacterial or fungus. It took a few visits to get it under control, but it was complete resolved. Spot denied a claim for the last visit to his vet, in which they took cultures and administered both antibiotics and fungus meds. It came to almost $700 because we needed to get this resolved once and for all. The culture from the lab came back that it was indeed yeast. They denied the claim claiming it was a pre-existing condition and also said they would not cover any type of dermatitis he ever got in the future. I appealed with notes from the vet that it was resolved. They said that it seemed he had chronic allergies and they won’t cover it! Dogs get yeast infections. Dogs have allergic reactions. But they considered it a permanent chronic condition! We went back to Nationwide.

It was easy and clear to follow…

It was easy and clear to follow instructions to cover both of my pets for their medical needs. Of course I won’t know for sure till I start using the insurance.

Very comprehensive coverage and excellent after purchase follow-up

Very comprehensive coverage and once I had purchased the policy for our Mini Schnauzer, the company called me to ask if I had any questions about the policy, and to give me the information of how to contact and make a claim if in the future it is necessary.
