Excellent exchange with Customer Rep., Lisa J.

I spoke with Customer Service Rep, Lisa Johnson, re: 66% Premium increase. Lisa demonstrated advanced policy knowledge and excellent soft skills. She was empathetic to my concerns and transparent in a good way to offer solutions, but not over promise something that she didn't have control over. In the process I learned more about possible options and the timing involved with each. In short, an excellent exchange and great Fetch ambassador.

Agents are lovely and very helping. One of my two cats is seriously ill and the insurance worked as expected and as soon as they received the papers asked for reimbursement everything has been treated quickly. Thank you Fetch for being here when I more need it.

I feel my furbaby, Sterling, will be covered for needed things!

I called Embrace because they were rated #1 by Forbes. I talked to Brian, who answered all of my questions and concerns after a bad experience with Spot Pet Insurance. We adopted a 4 month old Silver Miniature Poodle 9 months ago. We purchased pet insurance to cover needed vet bills and medicines for our baby. We recently took Sterling to the vet for a heartworm test so we could get our new prescription for Trifexis, which I was expecting to be reimbursed for the test and the 6 month prescription. The vet informed me that there is a new year long shot for heartworms and told us how much it cost and that the shot only prevents heartworms and we would still need flea and tick prevention. We decided to do the heartworm shot and purchased Bravecto for fleas and ticks for 3 months for each application. When I sent my claim in to Spot, they approved $25 for all treatment (Test was $41, Heartworm Shot was $107 and 3 month prevention for Fleas and Ticks (Bravecto) was $75.70, $223.70 Total). They said they only cover $25 per year for heartworm tests, prevention and flea and tick prevention. $25 for the year!! I questioned this and they told me it was on page 10 of the contract. I searched with them on the phone to find it on the last page of the contract (Page 21) after the name and address of the company that carries the policy, not Page 10. It is hidden at the end on the very last page! I immediately canceled my policy with them and ended on the phone with Brian with Embrace! Brian was very professional and knowledgeable about the insurance policy and what I needed for the coverage I was interested in. I told him I wanted to talk to my husband before I actually made a decision about coverage. He told me he could call me back at noon the next day, which was a Saturday. He called at exactly noon and signed me up. I feel confident that things will go much better with Embrace instead of Spot who hides things in their policies!!

Paid for itself and then some!

It was easy to sign up. So far, I have submitted three claims. The first was delayed not to having medical records and had closed but once I sent the records, it was processed and reimbursed. Spot has more than paid for itself this year already!

the best

I have 4 dogs so it seems like there’s always a reason to visit the vet. Recently, my oldest was diagnosed with cancer and needed surgery. After that was done, I simply uploaded the invoice and Healthy Paws reimbursed me at the rate of my plan almost immediately as is customary when you send everything they need. Then, a few days later they reached out to me to ask how my dog was doing and to send well wishes. I think that should tell you everything you need to know. I can’t recommend them enough.

Fetch Pet is greedy -- nothing like old PetPlan

I read a recent review here that Fetch raised rates $300 a year. I don't know what percent of their policy that is, but I was raised 38% this year and last year it was close to 40%. I have had to make changes in the coverages to make it affordable. I read a review here suggesting saving your money and paying the bills as you go along. That is a great idea! I wish I had done a very long time ago. It makes a lot of sense. If you are good with budgeting, it makes sense because pet insurance is not a good investment. I've spent tens of thousands of money on this pet insurance. If I had saved the money and paid the costs from my bank account, I would now have at least $15k extra in the bank. (I did the math.) I am tempted to wing it and pay as I go along. I could afford it decades ago for a dog who lived to 16 and I had no pet insurance back then, and I wasn't making a lot of money. I survived financially. This insurance for 2 dogs costs me annually more than 3 vehicles with full coverage and zero claims on my auto policy. I can put the money into a CD. They do process claims in a timely manner, but they charge $3.50 per pet per transaction each time they charge for the policy payment. (That's 2 transactions for me per quarter for my 2 dogs, $28 a year.) Other companies are charging $2 for one transaction because they combine the policies in one single charge. The fee equates to less for me to be billed monthly somewhere else than to be billed quarterly with Fetch. Not for nothing, but why would Fetch's charges be so much higher when their employees have been working from home since at least covid? There is barely any overhead. They don't have to rent or buy and office building, pay for heat and A/C, pay cleaning people, etc. What constitutes their fees and exorbitant increases? Come on. I do have to credit Katie for correcting misinformation I got from someone else there (Lisa) who (twice) told me the fee was $5 per dog, saying it would be $40 total to be billed quarterly and $120 total to be billed monthly. The increases have been huge for years. They changed one of my dogs to their new policy with an annual deductible and didn't change my other, yet they are the same age and were insured the same day from the start. It doesn't make sense. I've had my policies for 10 years. There is no loyalty discount.
