There when I needed it!
My cat recently had a stomach infection. I was so scared and upset and had no clue what was going on, but knowing that I had Spot pet insurance, I did not hesitate to get him the care he needed to get his diagnosis and his medication. Within a week, I received my 80% refund and could pay most of the bill off. I recommend Spot to any pet owners!

Hanging in there
Trupanion has stood by our side over the past year and a half. Without them we could not have afforded to keep our pet alive. Their no limit policy is the reason I chose Trupanion as our insurer. It was a good decision on my part.

Much higher rates in 2024, much lower ratings/reviews!
I have had Pets Best since I got my dog 5 years ago. I have never submitted a claim and fortunately, my dog is pretty healthy. I noticed starting 2 years ago that their prices were increasing by leaps and bounds compared to other insurers and they were also dropping in the ratings. I have a $1,000 deductible on my plan and I have never submitted a claim. Last year the price increased by $100 with no additional benefits offered. This year, however, the price increase was astronomical in my opinion. The price went from $401 last year to $628 this year!!! That's an increase of $227 and I have the highest deductible possible!!! I can see why they've dropped out of the top 5 recommended pet insurers. If for no other reason, their prices are out of this world! I think it's probably time to look for another insurer - one that is ranked higher with their member reviews and also one that is ranked higher by the companies that rate pet insurers. Additionally, when I called their "Vet" helpline, no veterinarian was present to answer my questions. The girl answering the phone was a vet tech who seemed to know less than I did about dogs. She had to look up the answers to my questions AND then she gave me incorrect advice. Fortunately, I did not listen to her since she did not sound credible. I complained about the fact that they advertised having a vet available when this was untrue, but it was to no avail. I wonder if perhaps that is why my rates increased so much this year...

Though they don't cover exams when you have an unexpected health issue--this insurance delivers!
Both pets have been on this insurance for years. Recently my dog has been diagnosed with cell abnormalities and started feeling sick. The insurance covered a very fair share of the work he needed to get better. Having helpful insurance was a huge stress relief so I could focus on getting him to the doctors he needed.
