They do not cover your medical bills
They try their best not to cover your medical charges. My dog had a bacterial infection of the eye previously which was treated with antibiotics (did not have Spot insurance at the time). A few weeks later my dog developed allergies which manifested as eye redness but Spot did not want to cover the medical charges because they considered it a continuation of his bacterial infection several weeks prior. They proceeded to explain that they would not cover any eye inflammatory conditions for the next SIX months due to their policy. Waste of money - recommend going with other insurance companies.

Trupanion is a scam
We have paid $100 monthly since bringing our healthy golden retriever home. Trupanion has covered $0 for anything, and we are going to cancel. When filing a claim, Trupanion either claims that it is a "pre-existing condition," or that the cost does not meet their $700 deductible, which has to be met for the SAME EXACT condition (i.e., if your dog eats a foreign object and it costs $500 to remove, and then a month later your dog has an upset stomach and needs $200 for meds, neither will be covered. Moreover, if your dog eats a foreign object a year later, it will be treated as a different condition, and you are back at $0 again). Overall, if you spend $1,000 per year throughout the dog's lifetime, this amounts to $10K+ for $0 coverage unless your dog develops a chronic condition later in life. This coverage is a scam and I do not recommend. Trupanion, please do not recommend I call your customer service number or email you unless you can offer some kind of remediation. Do better.

No Funny Business on Claims Approval
What didn't make it great?! Applying several years ago was an easy process. Customer service is super responsive. Most importantly the claim process was a breeze. I've had other pet insurance and this company by far exceeded my expectations! The cost of pet healthcare is expensive and the last thing you want to do is make a decision based on your financial situation. This policy gave me peace of mind and the entire ManyPets team made the claim process hassle free.
