Trupanion may not increase your premiums based on age but they will commonly increase your premium casually by 20% base on the cost of care etc...no other insurance I have goes up 20% multiple times within a 10 year period. shame

Silver lining to a vacation nightmare
We have had pet insurance on our rescue pup since we got her over a year ago and were lucky enough to not have to use it until our dogs attacked one another out of the blue while my husband and I were on our honeymoon. This fight resulted in emergency vet stays, surgeries, and us having to reschedule flights to come home from our trip early. And while we are still fighting with our trip insurance to get a penny covered of what we had to cancel, I had a direct deposit covering my dogs vet bills within days. I was so impressed that I immediately got another policy for our other dog (which I should have done way sooner). I will recommend Spot to anyone who listens.

Lack of Communication & Inflexible
I have been paying for Embrace pet insurance for two years. Thinking I had the coverage I was paying for, I took my pet to the ER. When I tried to submit the claim, Embrace informed me that the pre-policy exam I had for my pet was too early (by 3 weeks), and my pet would not receive the coverage. While I understand the "terms & conditions," it would have been helpful if someone had informed me prior to this moment that this vet visit was three weeks too early. I am very unhappy with this lack of communication from Embrace insurance and how inflexible they were in addressing this issue.
