I loved them year 1, but now I am in year 2 and my rates literally doubled +. I had to reduce coverage to make a semi reasonable payment. I live in Washington were vet expenses are ridiculous so you cannot be without insurance for your pets. I did call to "complain" or more accurately understand. She said you are not penalized for filing claims, rates are determined by inflation, deductible and coverage. So basically I will now be paying even more on the back end since many things are not going to be covered. Excellent customer service and they are pretty easy to use once you figure out how to do it.

Healthy Paws is the best!
Healthy Paws has been a lifesaver in managing the care of my two male dogs. One has a chronic illness which requires ongoing medical care and Healthy Paws allows me to care for my dog in the manner he needs not just in the manner in which I can afford. Customer service is outstanding and reimbursement is quick and simple.

First time we filed they responded back…
First time we filed they responded back with multiple requests to get records from the vet. After 2-3 exchanges they said we could apply the amount to the deductible. Second time I tried to file, repeat…send more paperwork and more paperwork, and again more paperwork. Obviously trying to wear you down to give up. Then after all paperwork my dogs claim was denied as a “illness” rather than injury. He injured his arm muscle playing with another dog. How is that an illness? Bottom line is they won’t pay. One major insurance scam after another. Do not waste your money. I spent over $1,000 here and could not get a $175 claim paid when I needed it. Just put $100 in savings every month and your better off.

I haven't had to file any claims yet, but have talked to support several times to adjust our policy and pay premiums. They are knowledgeable, very helpful, and resolve every question quickly!

Rates go up and up and up and up
Rates go up and up and up and up, expect yearly increases of $10-15 per month. In hindsight, we would have been better off sinking $100 per month in a high interest savings account since we adopted a dog that came from parents with no known issues, and most of our claims barely made it over our $500 deductible. Our dog is now 8 years old and we’re paying $120 per month. Live and learn.

I have been using Healthy Paws for all these years ever since I adopted my cat in 2019. It's the first and only Pet Insurance I have ever used (after comparing with many other options) and I am really glad I made the right choice. My cat got diagnosed with CKD late stage II and now stage III this year and it's absolutely devastating. Frequent trips to the Vet and caregiving at home are not easy and the anticipatory grief knowing he will probably leave me in the near future is the hardest part. Among all these, the one I feel most fortunate and grateful for is that I have a reliable Pet Insurance for him. Filing claims has been an easy process and Healthy Paws is always quick with processing the claims and sending reimbursements. I truly recommend it to all the pet parents and to get your pets insured as soon as possible before they have any illness or pre-existing conditions.
