They delivered what they promised!

Other insurance companies would not cover illnesses that are known to occur frequently in a breed, but Trupanion did not have these restrictions and even better, they delivered what they promised.

very pleased with Embrace

I adopted a 7-year old golden/collie mix, Angelo, two months ago. Because we had spent a lot last May when our late dog was critically ill with meningitis, I decided to buy pet insurance when we got Angelo. Angelo had been with us only a short time when we noticed that his third eyelid was showing. Our vet recommended an MRI. Embrace covered a substantial amount of the cost and reimbursed us quickly. I would definitely recommend Embrace to other pet owners.

All I can say is WOW!

As the owner of 3 golden retrievers and previous owner of 4 previous dogs. I think Embrace is awesome! (I hate that word but there is no other word to describe the attentive service I receive from the staff)! I have previously used VPI and can't believe the difference. I even received a personal note from Laura Bennett, Chief Embracer and Co-Founder to be sure that everything was going smoothly for me. I am really impressed. My first claim was processed quickly and easily and I received a check in about a week. I received emails to keep me informed during the whole process. The claims are based on a percentage of actual fees not some random figure pulled out of the air. I am definitely a fan.

Excellent service - no hassle claim!

We had just been insured one month when our Yorkie jumped out of my husband's arm and landed on her head. She was out cold - very scary - we rushed her to emergency. The bill was over $1500. I was wondering how using this new insurance would go. They are AMAZING!! As soon as they received the paper work they notified us via email that they were processing the claim - within days of receiving the paper work, we were notified the claim had been processed and we would receive a check for the 90% coverage. NO hassles. Excellent service!!

Initial Claim Denied

I recently obtained insurance for my Blue Weimeraner with great hesitation. The very first claim that I supplied to the insurance company was DECLINED. My Vet was astounded by the refusal of that company to reimburse and is discussing with his partners about removing Trupanion brochures from his office. Be very leary of this company.

Excellent company

We have had a policy for our 9 month old Shetland Sheepdog since he was 4 months old. I can't speak more highly of this company- we have had a few small things pop up, and our claims are always processed very quickly (mostly via email), communication is rapid, and our claims have always been approved. This is one of the only pet insurance companies to cover genetic conditions (such as hip dysplasia) and I would recommend Embrace to friends and family- both for the range of illness/conditions covered and excellent customer service. Wonderful!

Bait & Switch

I wanted a policy that would only kick in for major expenses, with high co-pays and deductibles resulting in low premiums. I also wanted continuing care coverage, so that chronic ailments wouldn't become uncovered pre-existing conditions at policy renewal time, as is usually the case with pet health insurance. Embrace promotes their continued care rider and seemed to fit my needs, so I bought a policy for my two cats. Later, when I carefully read the fine print (like I should've done up front) it became clear that their cintinuing care coverage was substantially less after the policy year when the condition developed. Worse, at the end of the first policy year they wanted a 43% premium increase to renew! Yes, a forty-three percent premium increase after the first year! It was like bait and switch: they suck you in with what seems to be good long-term coverage at an excellent price, then once they're got you as a customer, they jack up the rates so high that they're not even competitive. Needless to say, I didn't renew! I rated them as a "6" because they didn't actually steal my money and they didn't refuse to pay any claims (I didn't submit any) but I really felt ripped off regardless.
