Ten Years of Coverage
Our spunky Yorkie, Pumpkin, turns ten this month (April 30) and has been covered since she was a puppy. She's had many ailments over the years, in fact, her private "folder" in my desk is twice as thick as my beautiful Cocker Spaniel, who lived 16 years with us. Pumpkin experienced kennel cough, worms and hypothermia when we took over her care as a puppy. Our Vet is wonderful; she recovered and we had no problem with our pet insurance (Petshealth Care Plan). Recently, we discovered a small growth on her eyelid. It was the weekend, and I planned to call the Vet Monday. There was deep snow on the ground and Pumpkin loves scooting around and burying herself in the snow - however, she came up bleeding profusely. It turned out to be a small (benign) tumor. When she had her surgery, I also had her teeth cleaned. I am so thankful I had pet insurance, because it was over $1,000. My Vet broke down the costs separately for the insurance company. I received my check in weeks and was satisfied. I am also thankful that the insurance will cover Pumpkin for the rest of her life. I have recommended this company to friends and will continue to do so. Thank you for your support for the past ten years - we really appreciate it!

I had never purchased pet insurance for my previous pets and have experienced some very expensive vet bills throughout 30 years of dog ownership. I was asked to consider adopting a Yellow Lab whose owner had unexpectedly passed away and I felt that pet insurance would be a good investment. I had heard about Trupanion through PETCO. I went on line and read up on numerous plans and I felt, by far, Trupanion offered the best coverage. It didn't limit amounts for certain illnesses, etc. like the other plans and it was much easier to understand. You have $20,000 of lifetime coverage, excluding routine exam, vaccinations, and other items (like pre-existing conditions) that are clearly explained. There is a waiting period before coverage will be effective, but this is also explained (5 days accident, 30 days illness). During the second month of ownership, I noticed my dog was experiencing intermittent vomiting and a dry coat. Following bloodwork to rule out any potential cause for this problem, it was determined that he had a very low thyroid level. Once he was put on medication, they needed to re-test his thyroid in a month. I submitted my claims by fax (each invoice has to be submitted as a separate claim) and I received an e-mail confirmation from Trupanion that they had received my claim. My vet's office was contacted the next day to have his medical records faxed to Trupanion. I was also contacted to see if I had any past records from the previous owner.

Thank you, Embrace!
We have had pet insurance since I first started watching Emergency Vets in 1996. We switched from our previous provider to Embrace for our new lab puppy after learning about it through DockDogs. Also I was becoming increasingly dissatisfied with the payment schedule, requirements, delays, and difficulty getting information from the previous provider. All of our experiences with Embrace have been positive--from offering a discount for up-front payment to prompt communication and reimbursement, common-sense culture, and good ol' Midwestern customer service! Any new pets in our household will be insured with Embrace.

I was pleasantly surprised.
I submitted my first claim on my 8 month old Papillon and was pleasantly surprised with the wonderful service I received from Embrace. My vet's assistant had told me that pet insurance companies were notorious for being difficult and slow in paying out claims. Embrace not only responded quickly but called me to review my claim and processed everything exactly as they said they would. I am very happy with their kind and considerate service. I have already recommended the company to several of my friends.

As good as their excellent reviews
A new rescued basset hound spent 90 minutes eating grass in the back yard while I thought she was just dozing in the sun. The result was acute gastritis; three x-rays over two vet visits to see if there was anything else in there except plant matter, an injection of Benadryl to calm her nausea, one emergency examination charge and one regular examination charge and it's already $340. I took a week to make sure she was all right and then had the vet fill out the claim form and fax it in. Embrace acknowledged the receipt the next day. Some reviewers seem to have had faster service; I think it took the whole 15 days Embrace indicated rather than the three or four some people report but they did get back to me no longer than they had promised and they covered everything except the two cans of special dog food I needed to give to Bella on the two days after her vet visits. So, pretty much as advertised and everything I'd hoped for after reading all the sterling reviews.

Awesome Experience
Never had insurance for a pet before, but decided to get it this time for our lab Midnight. This was our first claim and Embrace was in constant contact with me in regards to the information they needed to process Midnight's claim. Had a lot of work and tests done and it was nice to know we had Embrace. Our dog had Valley Fever and is now on the mend. The explanation of benefits was exactly what I expected and am very happy with the outcome. Thank you Embrace,Dayne, Katherine and Midnight

It's paying off
We rescued a pug in August and was not sure what kind of problems he would have or had. Therefore, I thought the best thing I could do was get pet insurance. We had a few tests done on Percy in March because he had thrown up a few times. All the test came back negative but they ended up costing us $178 of which Embrace gave us a check for $142. I was so grateful and would recommend Embrace to anyone interested in purchasing pet insurance. Anytime I send in a claim, they always contact me via email to tell the status of the claim.

Prompt response on our very first claim.
I submitted a first claim with the necessary patient history on a 22 month old Great Dane. As a result, it was long (36 pages) but Embrace reviewed and responded promptly with a reimbursement. I received an email the day after submission that they received the claim, an email the next day that they were processing it, and an email the next day that they were sending a reimbursement. Not only did they act promptly, they kept us informed. Our vetererinary hospital no longer offers the insurer we used on two other Great Danes (read "health issues"). We were very happy with it, so we selected Embrace with some trepidation. Our initial experience is very encouraging. I'll give a nine on a sample size of one, but if this proves to be typical, I'll up my evaluation to ten.
