Best experience ever
With all that is going on with COVID-19 the last thing anyone needs is added expenses. When I took my dog to the vet for some testing due to having irregular breathing episodes the costs started to add up. Within days of filling my claim I had an answer and the money was on the way. I am so thankful for the support from Nationwide during this challenging time.

Misinformation
The reimbursement process is convoluted. They only offer you to go through Chase Bank. We submitted 2 claims. One went ok. The 2nd one we never received anything yet. When we called they said they had a different email than what we provided. However the first time around they had the correct email, It’s been 4 weeks and we are still waiting on the reimbursement. The customer service rep was of no help. No matter how I tried to explain to her nothing changed since the first claim, she kept on going to her script. We will not be using this insurance going forward.

Best coverage, fast reimbursement, no hassle
With my other dogs I had a different pet insurance company that always had a reason for not fully reimbursing claims and it was a very cumbersome process. Nationwide Per Insurance makes it easy and I have reimbursement in my bank account within days. They are the best!

Jason needed Patellar Luxation surgery, and Healthy Paws delivered!
Just after his first birthday, out best boy Jason, a Border Collie mix, was in the yard playing fetch. All of a sudden, he came up lame on his back right leg. We initially thought it was just a a muscle sprain, but the issue continued for weeks on and off. After a visit to the vet and a set of x-rays, we discovered Jason had grade three Patellar Luxation. We were referred to a orthopedic specialist, and they advised Jason would need surgery to prevent further complications and to preserve his quality of life and active lifestyle. We were advised that the surgery could potentially cost upwards of $5,000 depending upon the complexity of the repair! Luckily we had purchased Healthy Paws Pet Insurance when we adopted Jason at four months old, and boy, did they deliver! They worked directly with the veterinary hospital to pre-authorized the procedure And to confirm there were no pre-existing conditions in his medical history. They even arranged direct pay so we wouldn’t have a large out of pocket expense that we’d have to wait for reimbursement on! They made the claims process simple, and they made an incredibly stressful situation so much easier. We had peace of mind knowing we had Healthy Paws Pet Insurance, and that they would be there to cover the cost of Jason’s surgery so he could get the care he needs. Jason’s surgery went very well, and the vet has been very happy with the progress of his recovery thus far! With any luck, and lots of rest, he’ll be back in action in no time. We’re incredibly thankful we had Healthy Paws Pet Insurance, and consider it one of the best investments we’ve made to date!
