Good and Bad

I bought Pets Best Insurance (regular and wellcare) shortly after purchasing a puppy that turned out to be loaded with problems like tapeworm, bacterial infection and giardia. It took months to clean him up so that he is now happy and healthy at 9 months. After several claims, I found that the hundreds of dollars I spent at the vet was not reimbursable! I've tried to cancel the well care and learned that I can't until I have it for a year! Maybe someday the regular portion of the policy will pay for something....but I hope I never need it. I will be changing companies when my year is up!

Highly Recommend

I rescued a senior dog and thought it might be best if I took out some kind of insurance on her because of her age and unknown medical history. Shortly afterwards, the vet found some tumors on her stomach which had to be removed. Pet's Best paid their portion without a hitch. The basic wellness package is great, also. The claims process is painless and the response is amazingly fast. I usually have a check within two weeks. I recommend them to all my friends and they have great things to say, as well.

Pete and Karma

My dog Pete was diagnosed with cancer a year ago and just died in June 2011. My other dog Karma was dignosed with cancer in July 2011. Trupanion has been wonderful in expediting my claims very quickly. Also, they have been very supportive when they called to see how Karma was doing. I am very happy with Trupanion.Thank you Cheryl

Pets Best Came Through For Me!

I signed my puppy, Malcolm, up for Pets Best and added the Wellness plan as well. He's now 4 months old and I submitted my first claim (for his neuter & a shot). My claim was processed very quickly and I was reimbursed directly to my checking account. My only complaint is that I had to resubmit my claim twice, but it's not entirely the fault of the company. I didn't understand that because there was a medication listed on my bill that was submitted (which was for pain after his neuter) that they were looking for a diagnosis on the claim form as well as the neuter and bordatella shot. I called customer service and they kindly explained it to me and we got it all sorted out. The customer service rep was very nice and professional & even after having to submit it twice it still took less than a week for me to be reimbursed. I would definitely recommend Pets Best to my friends and family.

Outstanding Coverage, Compassionate Company

Embrace Pet Insurance has stood by me with my dog, Alex, and my cat, Suki. They have always been compassionate and caring in helping me with my medical bills, explanation of coverages, and providing quick reimbursement of charges. They take it a step further in truly caring for you and your pet...even asking me for a photo of my two pets. If other firms were as excellent as this firm, the world would be a much better place.

Lots of claims - processing was a bit to manage

Our 8 month old puppy sustained a broken toe and then lots of bad pressure sores from the casting. Over the course of 2 months, we had around 12 claims to submit for the various appointments. It became very frustrating when claims were faxed 2 and 3 times and were still not received by Embrace. Once they were finally received, the processing was quick and efficient. Embrace needs to work on establishing a more effective system of receiving claims and notifying of receipt immediately. We were thrilled all of our claims were approved and this injury to our pup has been covered!

Dakota Bone Cancer

I am very pleased with the recent processing of my claim. I submitted all of the invoices at one time under one claim. They covered invoices from 3 different doctors and/or hospitals plus medications from a local Costco. Pets Best sorted it all out and funded the claims as if they had been submitted individually. Pets Best covered a full 80% of the cost including the medications. They performed per their advertisement as when I initially purchased the Pets Best Insurance [Pets First Plan]. Prior to signing on with Pets Best my dogs, 3 or 4 of them over the past 10-12 years were insured with another company that advertised a pay out of 75%. When Dakota had lung torsion at age 4 the claim was several thousand dollars and the insurance only covered approximately 25% of the total claim. Thanks Pets Best. I have another Bernese Mountain Dog that just turned 6 mos and I will be applying for Pets Best Insurance shortly. Thanks again Pets Best - John U.

Keeping me (and my dog) as a customer

We have had our english bulldog since she was 8 weeks old. The breeder gave us a free 1 month policy for her so we looked into keeping it. Knowing english bulldogs can have a lot of healt problems, we continued with this policy. They have always paid out claims and paid them fast. And at 90%! Way better then a schedule of benefits. However, a few months ago, we received notice that the rate was going up. In order to keep the same rate, we needed to raise our deductible to $500. We shopped around and found what we thought was a great plan at a better price. Turned out to be a bad plan at a good price. So we kept our policy with Trupanion!
