If Healthy Paws Could Do People Insurance Too...

i don't think I can say enough positive things about Healthy Paws Pet Insurance. Prior to applying for coverage for my French bulldog Winston, I did a great deal of research. Most companies had many exceptions, high deductibles, and/or high monthly fees. Healthy Paws had multiple options and low monthly payments. Moreover, since Winston started using the coverage, I have never seen claims processed so quickly. If I scan over a claim on a Monday, it is processed on a Tuesday, and a check reaches my home within a week. The explanation of benefits is clear and easy to understand. If you do have a question, a claims representative is always helpful. As I told the staff at Winston's veterinarians office, I wish Healthy Paws could be my health insurance company. They are efficient, friendly, and cost-effective.

No Hassle - Fast Service

Possible torn ligament right rear leg. Initial consultation and follow up x-rays. Claim filed directly with Clinic, receipt email and also claim information email within 2 days. Better service than with my medical plan.

Bulldog Tail problem

I am extremely happy we selected Embrace as our pet insurance for our English Bulldog. All of our communications with them have been prompt and professional. They really have excelled at keeping us informed.

worth having

Recently had a major dental claim for our 5 year old javanese. Trupanion reimbursed $1485 of a $2000 bill (there is a deductible and there were some not insured items on the bill) within two weeks. Very good about communicating the status of our claim. Would recommend to anyone. Have had several rate increases since beginning-only reason rating not 10.

makes it easy on pet parents

Our experience with Embrace has been nothing but wonderful. Our vet office often forgets to include important information on the claim form, and Embrace takes the initiative to contact them and keep us updated until everything is complete. It is a relief to not be stuck in the middle of the process, yet be informed as to the status of every claim. I am truly thankful for their diligence and thoroughness.

HORRIBLE

I am not one to complain online about things. As a matter of fact, I do not think I have ever written a review about a business before, pleased or un-pleased. We enrolled our Italian Greyhound puppy in TruPanion, due to the fact that IG's are famous for breaking legs and we were worried with our puppy being as silly and as fast as he is, he may end up breaking a leg, which as you know, can cost thousands of dollars to repair. In October, our puppy ate some plastic from our window blinds which caused him some diarrhea and vomiting. We took him to the vet were they ran some tests and blood work. All came back negative for any type of bacteria or infection. He passed the plastic the next day and was fine. The vet concluded it was caused by the plastic and no further tests needed to be conducted. In December, our puppy became extremely ill. He had some type of bacterial infection (probably picked up from Petsmart because they are FILTHY, but that is whole other issue). Long story short, the tests, medicine, and care ended up costing almost $1400. We submitted a claim for reimbursment to TruPanion and it was denied becuase they said the December incident was a pre-existing condition, which is absolutely ridiculous. How is eating plastic and having a bacterial infection the same thing? We had our vet write TWO letters to them explaining how one was caused by the injestion of the plastic and one by a bacteria. They denied the claim again coming back and saying this time

Jasper

Jasper needed surgery on both of his front legs & trupanion made the process of pre-approved payment to have this done, it was such a relief. Now I recommend trupanion pet insurance to any of my friends with animals.
