Great customer service

My dog ate a hibiscus flower and got very ill. Her vet bills were about $700 with meds. The process with Healthy Paws was very easy. They took about 5 business days to review her past medical records then emailed me when the claim was processed and we got back 90% of everything after out $250 deductible. Best part, they followed up a week later to check to see how she was doing. Very nice touch.

You have to read this one!

I have not owned dogs for nearly ten years since my divorce and remarriage. My Wife, who is highly allergic to dogs found a Mini Labradoodle and she had no allegic reactions. We had watched our best friends shell out over $7500.00 on their pooch over the past year and realiszed that would be a tough burden on us if we needed that kind of Vet care. Our friends urged us to look at Pet insurance and after an exhaustive study, I chose Embrace based upon the percentage payment method of payments. Eight weeks after our first puppy, we picked up a tiny Bolognese puppy as a companion. She would only be five pounds and I head a fear that we might step on her and incur thousands of dollars in Vet fees. I added little Jazmine with a 10k limit and 80% deductible. We woke up one morning and discovered that Jazmine had something wrong with her eye. A quick search of the Internet confirmed that she had "Cherry Eye" and that it had to be surgically corrected. Do to the high failure rates of the surgery, we elected to see a Board Certified Veteranary Opthalmologist for the procedure. Approximately $2000.00 later, Jazmine was sent home. The next morning, I was hoorified to see that her other eye had the same prolapse (Cherry Eye) -- Another trip to the Surgeon and another two thousand dollars. My claims were processed and despite the warning of my Vet who said that the insurance companies always find a way to exclude this type of surgery, our claims were paid. Dr. D.

Very Pleased

We have had Embrace insurance since our GoldenDoodle a=was a puppy. He is now 5 and a half and due to a knee problem required X-rays and medical care. What a blessing to know we had insurance. Embrace was prompt in their payment ad kept us informed of progress of the claim.

Bad experience

I took my cat in for a mass on her foot, at the same time we decided to have her teeth cleaned. When I submitted the claim it was mixed for illness/injury and dental (I don't have dental coverage. We later found out she has cancer. Embrace denied the entire claim since part of it was for dental.I am extremely disappointed because it is obvious that Embrace has gotten big and cares only about profits now and not their customers. When I first started with them (several years ago) - I got full explanations of what was going on, was told what part of a bill would be covered and what wouldn't. A REAL explanation of benefits, not just - we're rejecting, sorry. Their customer service has really gotten bad - a trend I have observed over the last year or so.

Almost Completely Happy

I love ASPCA but it would be nice if they extended their coverage for more health conditions and treatment. Some of my chihuahua's medications were considered "vitamins" since one of the ingredients was a vitamin. I have to pay out of pocket even though it's to treat a condition. Also, it takes a very long time for me to receive my check. Everything else is amazing!

Unbelievable turn around time on claim

We are new customers to Embrace and really feel we made the best choice by going with them. We submitted a claim under our wellness policy and had an immediate response from Embrace tellling us exacly what the process would be from there. We had a reimbursement check within 7 day. Excellent service, no squabbling about the cost of services in NYC!!

The Best!

I switched from another highly rated pet insurance company to Healthy Paws about 15 months ago. I wasn't dissatisfied with the other company, but Healthy Paws got higher ratings on this site and the premium costs for identical coverage (90%) were less. My puppy is now a teenager, after a full year of getting into puppy health trouble - at a toxic salmon carcass, intestinal infection, developed a limp, had a transient out of limit blood test. Long story short, he got the right vet care each time with no worries for me about cost. All claims have been processed and approved within 48 hours of my vet submittal, with friendly and concise email notifications. They are the BEST! One tip I have for Healthy Paws customers - if your claim is taking a long time, it's your vet delaying the paperwork, not Healthy Paws!

Amazing

My dog got into some acetaminophen and had to be transferred from our normal vet to a 24-hour veterinary hospital. This was my first claim since insuring him and I couldn't have been more pleased. When I called to verify benefits, the person I spoke with was very polite, helpful and also expressed concern for my pet (maybe I've become jaded, but I wasn't even expecting that). Since this was our first claim, it took about 10 days to get everything finalized, but the follow-up claims I've submitted since then have been approved within hours. The thing that initially attracted me to this company was that they didn't have annual maximums for coverage, but covered a percentage with no maximums. Hip dysplasia and hereditary conditions are also covered, which is pretty rare. Most importantly, they are very clear about exactly what is covered and what is not and I did not have any surprises when I received my Explanation of Benefits. I have recommended them to all of my family and friends and would strongly encourage you to go with this company.
