This veterinary professional loves Trupanion
I am a customer of Trupanion and unfortunately had to submit claims to them for my cat's bladder cancer treatment. They were great! I also interact with Trupanion as a veterinary professional, they are one of the best companies around! Our clients love them, we love them and you will, too.

Fast reimbursement Great responses !!!
I recently added my 4 dogs to the Embrace insurance plan.The cost is reasonable and gives me peace of mind.I included the Wellness plan so I could get coverage for heart worm meds.etc.The insurance plan has paid for itself for the first 2 months Inhave had it.The claims were addressed within 24 hours and checks arrived within a week of my visit to the vet.I am referring all of my friends !

A life saver!
Our cat is not the sharpest knife in the drawer so to speak... He ate a poisonous plant and the vet bills cost us about $3,000. After that incident we decided to get pet insurance. We spent a while decided which service to go with and settled on Trupanion. Only about a month after we signed up our cat got into trouble again after swallowing a cat toy. The bill was $6,000 this time! Even though we had only been signed up with Trupanion for a month and had paid a single down payment of about $20, they covered 90% of the total bill! There were a few items on the list that were not covered, like standard check ups, but all in all we only ended up paying about $800 instead of $6,000. I can honestly say that Trupanion saved my cats life... paying 6k to save our cat was just not an option for us. The only negative that I can speak of is that I did indeed have to pay the six thousand dollars upfront and then had to wait an agonizing week before Trupanion confirmed that they would cover us. It took about a month and a half until the insurance check came and was also pretty stressful floating $6,000 in debt while waiting. These are small complaints though, my cat is alive and my savings account is for the most part intact. I would highly recommend them.

Reasonable claims turn around
Generally good,somewhat frustrated with insurer's interpretation that a visit to the vet after injury is always classed as a consultation rather than diagnostic-I have been in insurance claims for many years, and believe I am up to speed on terminology!

I obtained this insurance to help off set any of Sadies doctors visits. Considering I paid over 700.00 to have her covered and extra paid out for well visits to find out that after one visit I used up my benfits is not acceptable. Considerating my bill was $458.00 and you only covered less than 50% I thought it would be better coverage than this. I was also told in the agreement that a check would be sent out in 7 to 10 days. Only to find out this was a false statement. My check won't arrive until the 26th day. I am not sure that I will be renewing next year. I will wait and see how the rest of the year goes.

I was so impressed with Pet's Best and their claims payment service that tells you if they'll pay your claim BEFORE you even file it. So, if you're worried about getting payment on your claim you can call their customer service which is always very helpful, and they will tell you your claim will be paid,. Brilliant! Perfect for my pup and his high dollar TPLO srugery. These guys are worth your research. One of the better ones out there and not so well known. Picked them over Healthy Paws and Pet's Plan.

The BEST of the best!
I've been a customer since 2010. Never submitted a claim until 2012 and since then have had to submit dozens. The first claims were for our golden retriever, Shelby who we sadly lost quickly to cancer. Being that those days were stressful and dark, Trupanion not only moved quickly and professionally, they did with care and compassion. Since then my other golden retriever has been diagnosed with some manageable conditions but those will require lifelong treatment. We are now regularly submitting claims and the service has remained consistent from Trupanion - extremely prompt, fair and kind hearted. I was skeptical of insurance when I first got my dogs. I thought I could set up a separate bank account and not worry. Thank goodness I changed my mind when a friend's beautiful boy got sick and put policies on my babies. Now I would never go without and it would never be any other company than Trupanion. Since February 2012 so far I have been reimbursed over $9,200. It only takes one incident or illness to wipe out what you may have thought was enough in a special savings account. If you're like me and would bankrupt yourself for your babies, strongly consider pet insurance.
