Very quick, helpful & nice

I have been very happy with the turn around time on submitting a claim. Also, when I needed to call and talk to someone about changing my account, each person I talked to was very helpful and nice. The only thing I do not agree with is, when I had to start a new policy because I added a dog, my deductible was no longer good, I had to start over. I feel it should all just move over to the policy if everything stayed the same, you just add a pet.

Claims are very slow to process

Claims are very slow to process. Customer service agents read from a script and provide no actual help.

I’m beyond disappointed with Fetch

I’m beyond disappointed with Fetch. Despite paying over $1,000 in premiums, I haven’t received a single reimbursement for my cat’s recent medical visits, all of which are clearly eligible under their policy. I've submitted multiple claims through their app and website, provided every required document, and followed up numerous times. Not once have I received a response. They’ve completely ghosted me while I’ve been dealing with a sick pet and mounting vet bills. This is not only unprofessional, it's unethical. Their lack of communication is appalling, and at this point, it feels like they’re just taking my money without offering the coverage they promise. Avoid Fetch at all costs. They are the worst, and I would never recommend them to anyone who actually cares about their pet.

Not loyal to their customers.

I’ve been a Nationwide pet insurance customer since 2014. Over the years, I’ve only needed the insurance for routine wellness visits and exams — nothing major. I set up autopay early on so that payments would be consistent and on time, and I never missed a payment. Recently, I noticed that payments were no longer being withdrawn. When I logged into my account, I was shocked to discover that my policy had expired. I immediately called Nationwide for clarification. The representative told me that my plan was discontinued because it was an older policy. I was never notified. When I asked why I wasn’t informed — via email, phone call, or even a text — the only answer I received was that they sent a letter. I never received it. I pressed further, asking why there was no follow-up when they clearly had multiple ways to contact me, and the representative had no response. To make matters worse, when I asked what I could do now to make sure my dog remains insured, I was told that because of his age, Nationwide will no longer insure him. After paying $162.19 per month for ten years, I’m now left with nothing, just when my senior dog may need coverage the most. How convenient for them. This is a shameful way to treat a loyal, long-term customer. I upheld my end of the agreement without fail, and now, when it truly matters, Nationwide has abandoned us. It’s incredibly disappointing and feels like a calculated move to avoid covering aging pets when they’re likely to need care. Shame on you, Nationwide.

Read the fine print

Read the fine print, and then just understand it's an insurance company with the main goals being (1) collecting your premiums and (2) denying your claims. My dog had a lipoma, but I wanted it tested to make sure it was benign. Because my dog had a lipoma in his past, ALL lipomas and lumps and bumps are considered pre-exisiting conditions, and are not covered. The insurance contract is written in a way to be vague about this, but the staff will go out of their way to explain things in their favor. I am sticking with them for now, despite that they've never paid a claim AND they raised the premium just recently, but only because I have resolved to accept that this policy is nothing more than a catastrophic policy, should my dog break a bone and need surgery, or something like that. For any other purposes, it's useless (and VERY expensive, even with the USAA discount - incidentally, it's disappointing that USAA affiliates with a company like Embrace, as these are definitely shady practices).
