Great Service!
I shopped around for insurance for my new service dog. I had used Pet's Best for my previous dogs and after doing my homework, they still came out the winner!

I recently had to file a claim for my pet, and I cannot speak highly enough of the experience. From start to finish, everything was handled with efficiency, clarity, and care. What truly made this experience great was the perfect blend of technology and human touch. Submitting the claim through the mobile app was incredibly simple—just a few photos of the invoice and we were done. But the standout feature was the communication. We received prompt confirmation that the claim was received, regular status updates, and a clear, detailed explanation of the reimbursement. The process was not only fast and hassle-free but also transparent. There were no confusing surprises, just a straightforward fulfillment of their promise. In a moment that can be stressful for any pet owner, this company provided peace of mind and proved to be a reliable partner in my pet's health. I would recommend them to any pet owner without hesitation.

Nearly 400% Rate Increase Since 2023 — Healthy Paws Is Exploiting Loyal Pet Parents
I’ve been with Healthy Paws for over 12 years, insuring my dog since she was a puppy. I used to recommend them to everyone. But now, I’m paying almost 400% more than I did in 2023 as my monthly premium has jumped from around $130 to over $510. Healthy Paws blames “rising veterinary costs,” yet veterinary inflation has been closer to 10–15%, nowhere near the massive hikes so many of us are facing. This isn’t an isolated case. I encourage you to scroll through forums or Reddit and you’ll see countless pet owners reporting the same thing. Once your pet ages, the rates explode, and switching insurers becomes impossible because pre-existing conditions are excluded. It feels like they’re banking on your love for your pet to keep you trapped. Pet parents deserve transparency and protection. These increases are predatory and unjustifiable. I’ve filed a complaint with the NJ Department of Banking & Insurance and contacted state leadership to push for regulation. I urge anyone reading this to think twice before signing up as the peace of mind you think you’re buying could turn into a financial nightmare later.
We love MetLife pet insurance
We love MetLife pet insurance. Great company, great plan, efficient claims and reimbursements and well and sick plans. 100% reimbursement. I just wish the cost didn’t increase so much every year for those customers without large claims.

Best care ever!!
Once I received my Yorkies I couldn’t find a vet in my area that were accepting new patients. I was recommended to County view animal Hospital. Just 20 mins away and it has been the best decision. Their vets and staff are the best. I highly recommend them over all.
I canceld my policy because of this.
I guess this leading statement in the comments box, "What went wrong this time?", explains their work. My dog is experiencing something to cause him to vomit and I've had numerous tests done on him to see what might be the cause. Because a vet visit 11 & 1/2 months ago mentioned vomiting, Embrace stated this is a preexisting condition. Vomiting? Really? Who has a dog who didn't. My case is extreme this time, but Embrace refused to reimburse me a dime on anything. They said he would be covered for vomiting in the future if he has no further case of it for 12 months. I guess I missed the window of opportunity by half a month.

Slow and frustrating. Go for HealthyPaws
When I adopted my dog (a puppy) from a shelter they used a site that in the process offered this pet insurance that would kick in at midnight after you adopt your dog. Not metlife's fault but you didn't get to choose much or read much about the coverage other than you can buy more that would cover more day to day stuff which I did not (and still don't) care about. It did not though state that there is a $5,000 per year cap, just that it'd be a $250/yr deductible and 90% reimbursement which I do fault them for. What was confusing then was it seemed like you are locked in for a year. I called and the rep said no you can cancel any time even if you make a claim. I am still not certain what will happen when I cancel because you have to call to cancel, you can not cancel online like you can with other insurers. I have HealthyPaws for my other dog but that takes 15 days before you can make your first claim which is why I went with this temporarily. The next issue is many people don't keep the shelter's dog name for a puppy. You can't update your dogs name, you can give them a nickname so I put that down before any claim. Clearly that wasn't enough for Metlife to understand that the claims are for my dog. The other issue is their claims process is extremely slow. 3 to 5 days to just review your claim then an additional 10 plus to process it. After a 10 days I got my claim rejected. They wanted an SOAP which I submitted (this is your medical history) but they also wanted invoices...which is also what I submitted. Everything is line itemed and the same invoices I've submitted to HealthyPaws and get paid on within 2 to 3 days. They also said my pets name is wrong in the email but not on the site. I will give them this: one thing is weird in that there are invoices from 2 clinics because we had an after hours incident, but they don't say which vet they want SOAP for or anything. TLDR; everything is slow, opaque, you get emails and links to "view your packet" and most don't go to your packet, and it seems like the bad parts of human health insurance. I have had 3 dogs on HealthyPaws including one that got various cancer treatments (radiation therapy and chemo therapy) and it was all so much easier, faster, and more humane. Update 10/29: I have had 4 calls with MetLife. They updated my pets name as the nickname was insufficient, and I keep getting emails saying they are missing information over the course almost 3 weeks. Agents have tried to help but also no one has re-reviewed my claim and the hope is by the end of this week someone will check. The agents are very very nice but this is the absolute worst. I see that MetLife responded to this and nothing has really changed in the 2 calls since I left this review.
