5 Dogs over 20 years with Nationwide - Need I say more?
Nationwide has been taking care of our current dogs, Kirby and Dudley for their lifespan thus far, and have been providers of insurance for three of our previous dogs (when the company was VPI). This is the best and most comprehensive coverage I have found. I wish I could put my granddog on my policy too!

They are fabulous
I use healthy paws for my service dog and can't say enough good things about them. Their policy is easy to understand, they make the process super simple and they finish the claim in just a couple days. It's a huge relief to know I never have to tell my vet I can't afford treatment for my boy.

Excellent coverage, easy claim process.
We are really happy with the pet insurance coverage from Nationwide. With an older cat medical issues seem to come up more often and it has been very easy to submit claims to Nationwide and be covered. My husband and I joke that our cat has better insurance than we do. It's really appreciated. Thank you.

On line submissions take longer than advertised, but claim still done in a reasonable amount of time.
Nationwide has ads that say if you do online claim can receive payment in just a few days. That isn't true. Other than that is went well.

Best out of 3 I've Tried
I've tried 3 pet insurance carriers, and hands down AKC Pet Insurance is the best! I have no complaints! They are extremely helpful over the phone and always polite customer service. The add-on wellness options sold me on their service and it's worth the cost! I have 2 corgis (2 years old and 6 months) and always try to utilize "preventative medicine" (vaccinations, annual check-ups, heart worm and flea and ticks medications, etc.) and their wellness add-on options definitely make all the difference with vet bills. Most recently, my husband and I bought our first house and moved to a new address in April. In May, I had taken my older corgi to her annual check-up but had forgotten to submit my claim in amongst unpacking until I had another claim to submit in August when she suddenly had a gastric ulcer and stopped holding down food. I got reimbursements back on both fairly quickly (within about 7 business days) and have hit my deductible! It's also wonderful to be able to add my younger corgi even though she's not AKC registered. 10 out of 10! Thank you AKC Pet Insurance!!

360 Positive Experience
Our experience with Nationwide has proven to be an entirely positive one as compared with a direct competitor whom we currently have our other dog insured through. The ease of claims submission and regular updated communication regarding a claim is bar none. If our other dog didn’t (now) have pre-existing conditions, we’d be switching her over!
