It does take quite a while for claims…
It does take quite a while for claims to be processed. My claim took 27 days from submission and for an EOB to be returned. Be forewarned, when calculating the deductible, they also deduct the percentage of reimbursement from that charge. Kind of double dipping. They did allow for all customary charges from my N.Y. vet and direct deposited into account. The follow up from customer service updating the status of the claim was lacking. That should be improved.

Healthy Paws has saved my sanity and bank account!
My sister recommended Healthy Paws for my puppy when I got him, and thank goodness she did! Within the first few months, they were already saving me money as puppies get into everything. It gave me such peace of mind to take him to the vet knowing it wasn't going to cost me an arm and a leg to make sure my pup was all right. When I adopted my second dog (a little older), I immediately got him insurance too with Healthy Paws, and again, lifesaver! Whenever I have to file a claim, they always follow up later to see how my dog is feeling, which is so considerate. I have never had an issue with them covering a claim, and it really takes a lot of stress away knowing I can take care of my dogs without financial concern. I highly recommend them!

I have been with Trupanion for quite sometime and I recommend them to everyone with a pet! Submitting claims is easy and their customer service is excellent. I have two senior kitties and could never have been able to provide the care I am able to without the help of Trupanion. What a blessing! Will forever be grateful!

Shocked at ease and service!
I could not be more pleased with Healthy Paws Pet Insurance! I have been shocked at how easy it is to submit claims (literally takes 1 minute from my phone), I receive a confirmation email almost instantly, and progress emails over the next few days before my claim is complete and my reimbursement check is on its’ way. I am so happy and highly recommend them!

I am so thankful to Trupanion for really being there when we counted on them.
My border collies started having seizures when he was 5 years old. Epilepsy is a difficult illness . His medicine helps so much and Trupanion has always kept their promise to help him.I am forever grateful . And Finn sends his love !

SO easy to submit claims/receive reimbursement!
I am honestly shocked at how easy it is to submit a claim and receive a quick reimbursement from Healthy Paws Pet Insurance! They are unbelievable. Takes one minute (literally) to submit a claim from my phone and I have my reimbursement check not long after that with progress emails along the way from them. They also emailed me to check on our dog after her double eye surgery. We are SO happy with them and highly recommend!

WASTE OF TIME - Stay away if possible! DON'T get sucked into their 30 day free trial BS - they won't give you a CENT
I worked with Trupanion for a whole month in June 2020 because our vet offered us a 30-day free trial with them. Trupanion worked out some kind of promotion where if a puppy is given the green light on their first comprehensive examination (i.e. is deemed healthy/has no pre-existing conditions), then these customers will be offered this free trial. I was ecstatic - but it turned out to be a HUGE waste of time. During this time, my puppy experienced severe diarrhea and vomiting and we visited the vet multiple times in the month - about 5-6 times. All 5-6 times were aimed towards helping my puppy get better but Trupanion kept rejecting all of these claims. They have deemed it to be INELIGIBLE because "Nothing in the medical history shows that this is NOT a pre-existing condition." I was confused as my puppy was deemed healthy by our vet and we received the free trial accordingly. Once the free trial was over, I found another insurance company. I gave them the same medical records as I did Trupanion and there were no issues with processing the claim and reimbursing the money spent. The most infuriating part is that my vet was ALSO confused as to why the claims had been rejected and had even taken the time and energy to write up a letter to appeal Trupanion's decision — which was still rejected. To this day, they are still baffled by the outcome of our interaction. On top of that, Trupanion also offered a possible explanation for my puppy's issues stating "Puppies can feel queasy after car rides and as a result, may vomit." As an FYI to Trupanion, we walk to the vet. I did not appreciate that Trupanion tried to write off my puppy's gastro issues. I didn't pay a cent to Trupanion due to the free trial, but I was definitely interested in sticking around due. How could you not be, considering their 9.3/10 rating all the raving reviews they received? I was dismayed at my free-trial experience with Trupanion. I genuinely feel like they will not care unless you pay them. This was not a good first experience and there is NO way I would ever let my other pet owner friends deal with this. They deserve to work with a company that cares about them and does not write off any issues regardless of how "common" a symptom may sound.

Simple and just what I was looking for
The online quote tool was super easy to use and the policies were clearly listed and easy to understand. The only thing that was misleading is that preventative care was covered in the initial price because of the chart that is on the website checking off all the care that is covered, but it doesn’t show until later that the option to add preventative care is an additional fee. Overall great prices and customer service!
