Excellent service without long delays
One of our cats is older and we have tried two other companies during her 16 years with us. Pet Embrace has given us the best service as well as the easiest-to-understand coverage. It's easy to reach a knowledgeable Embracer by phone, and claims have been covered quickly. This our fourth year with Embrace Pet, and we will stay with them as long as our pets are with us. We're so glad that we found them!

Grateful for the assistance
Due to the 4th of July chaos, my puppy ate rocks. It took 24 hours of testing to be sure all rocks were thrown up. That cost 1000 dollars. Thanks to my pet insurance through Nationwide, I only paid 23 dollars. I'm extremely grateful for the assistance.

Well here we go again - Do they cover anything?
Well here we go again. I didn’t expect to have more issues with Trupanion, however let’s get it all out there for everyone considering Trupanion. This is my second claim with Trupanion, and this is my second claim that has been denied due to a “pre-existing condition”. For both claims I’ve had to appeal, and my vet has got involved with the situation and explained why they were not pre-existing. In the end my first claim was covered. When we got to the second claim, I figured we wouldn’t have any issues at all (this was something completely new for our dog). Naturally, Trupanion finds one note and decided to deny based on that. My vet has written a letter stating that the notes in the vet records are not related for the appeal and it still was denied (this happened the first time too). I then called in and asked what do I do from here when my vet is saying she doesn’t believe it is related? The manager I spoke with told me to have my vet call into the appeals department to give them more information and to reiterate that she doesn’t believe it is related. The appeals women told her that the appeal is closed and nothing she says will change the result. My vet had to call four times to get this response. Why would a manager tell me to have my vet call in, using her valuable time, if the appeals team won’t listen to the vet? If my vet doesn’t believe this is related to the current condition, how can it be pre-existing? Essentially, Trupanion is claiming to know my dog better than myself and my vet. I’m the type of dog mom that will take him in for anything that is concerning, my vet knows him well and knows that if there was an ongoing issue, they would be the first to know. Also beware that one of the representatives basically confirmed with me that I will likely have to appeal every claim. This is BEYOND time consuming, and stressful. Trupanion goes on about how they are there in your time of need, they aren’t, they just make it more stressful. Our vet has told us we really need to consider our policy with them and has actually advised that it may not be worth it if they just won’t cover anything. Normally they advise that clients have coverage, so that is telling you something.
