Because you don't come across as advertised. I'm trying to save my dogs life and y'all won't cover and I can't afford it.

20% increase, on a 3yr old dog!
Even though they HAVE made small payouts, after reaching the deductible, a 20% increase on a 3-year old mutt, is outrageous! Not that they give a hoot, when you call for an explanation. Just a "we don't usually do that, but...." Yeah, okay. And when we did need a reimbursement, we had to ask for it, repeatedly. One time they told me, it was because the vet wasn't responding; then you contact your vet, who forwards you THEIR response, that was returned to. aspca within 24 hours, of their request. So I got in touch with my vet, to ask how much their average prices had increased, over the past three years. It was a bit harder to get a true picture, but "it definitely isn't. 20%." I understand it's a business, but why be so greedy? If I upped my prices, I'm fairly certain my customers would be irate. Just curious if they did these increases across the board, like CS told me, they did? So now we're shopping for new insurance, possibly lifetime, as I thought it'd be with aspca. I dont like the thought of writing negative reviews. I mainly wanna know, if anyone else is dealing with this?

Couldn't have asked for a better experience
Our little Chihuahua/Terrier Hercules broke his leg pretty badly a few weeks ago jumping off the bed and we had to take him in for emergency treatment, followed by surgery a few days later to put a plate and screws in to repair his fracture. It was a scary, stressful and not to mention COSTLY experience. Thankfully, we have Healthy Paws insurance for Hercules! This was the first time we've had to file a claim and the process was so easy - just upload a picture of our invoices from the vet and send over his medical records. That's IT! Our claims were processed within a week and we received payment yesterday. On top of which, the Healthy Paws team has kindly reached out to check on Hercules and make sure he's doing well. This is the kind of excellent treatment that will make us a life long customer. Thank you for making a very challenging situation so much easier, Healthy Paws!

TAKES TOO LONG
My first time buying dog insurance. Their portal is easy to understand & their agreement. However, their customer service is HORRIBLE. They take days to respond or half an hour just to a simple text. What's the point of an online chat if none of your agents are on? Also, I uploaded a claim on the 13th and it still has not been completed. What is TAKING so long? They claim to process claims fast but that is so not true. I did get my other claims back faster (flea wellness).

USED TO BE A WONDERFUL COMPANY
I have had multiple pets insured with Pets Best for many years and currently have 4 cats and 1 dog insured. Previously, turnaround time was fairly quick...then it slowed to weeks. Contacting Customer Service used to be a pleasure...it is now a disaster. (Unless you're calling sales; then no wait time whatsoever). No representatives available, referrals to an email address that is non-existent or referral to a "chat" which is inoperative. While I recognize that the current pandemic has affected many companies, that excuse will only work to a point. My 14 -year old cat's premium just went from $1079 annually, with quarterly payments of $269. to $1,605 with $401 quarterly payments (and that's WITH a multi-pet discount!). I emailed and faxed a 7/22/20 claim to a representative named Tamra on 7/24, since my claim of 7/22/20 never received a quick email acknowledgment, as had previously been the custom.Tamra assured me that she would get back to me to let me know that the claim had been received (saying that there were currently "bugs" in Pets Best email system. Thus far....crickets! I have previously recommended this company to anyone asking for a reasonable and responsive pet insurance company. I would never be able to recommend this company again. Since my current pets are either up in age or have developed conditions which would be considered pre-existing, I am stuck with the ridiculous increases and incompetence of a company for which I used to have the highest regard.

This company should be put out of business.
Pets Best is using every dishonest tactic to deny a claim. The vet provided all documentation several times. They denied the claim based on "your vet did not provide documentation". They are liars and scammers. I have filed a complaint with the Nevada Insurance Commission. I am also contacting their underwriters and intend to follow up with a law suit. Do not do business with this company.
