Easy, Fast, and Loyal
Our Boxer, Tedy, suffers from an uncommon fungal infection in his left elbow. It took Doctors months to diagnose it properly, and in the process we had a number of expensive medical bills (many of which were covered by insurance). Today, Tedy has lingering arthritic issues and is on two different daily medications to keep the infection away. Healthy Paws has stayed with us for years despite these costs, and their help allows us to afford keeping Tedy's quality of life as great as possible. He's an energetic boxer who has to limit exercise, but thanks to these medications and Healthy Paws, he lives a full life.

Ridiculous Premium Raise
We have not even make a single claim since joining healthy paws, but they now raise the monthly premium for more than $10 to $65.64 - This is ridiculous and totally unacceptable, since I may be their potential loyal customers for a very long time. Please note that the "Ease of claim rating" above should not be counted since I did not claim anything since I had the policy.

A Company that Unconditionally Loves Animals
On boxing day Spike had begun vomiting, I approached it with the typical wait and see attitude (if he vomits he usually recovers by the next day), and sure enough, the following day was fine. The day after that, Spike had thrown up again, this was cause for concern so I booked an appointment with my vet for the following day. They took some X-Rays, gave him some meds, and sent me home with a $580 bill. The next day when he was STILL vomiting they sent me to the emergency room. Long story short, Spike had a bout of pancreatitis and spent a week in the vet hospital. He's home now, but we're not fully out of the woods quite yet, we're doing bloodwork to see if he potentially has chronic kidney disease. The reason I've said all of this here is that I want to give a glowing endorsement to both Alta Vista Animal Hospital for the quality of care they gave Spike, and Trupanion my insurance company that covered 90% of the bill. I pay $63/m for his coverage. Without insurance, this vet visit would have been over $11'000 and I would have needed to put serious stock into either taking out a line of credit to pay the bill or possibly putting down my 2 and a half-year-old dog. Spike has a vet-approved diet, I give him treats sparingly, exercise him regularly, and he's extremely well socialized. The vet gives him a top bill of health on his annual check-up. My point is, this came out of nowhere, there was no direct cause or area of negligence that could have prevented this. It happened to me and Spike, and it can happen to you and your pet. The best part? His future medication and visits related to this are also all covered, and there was no change in my monthly charge. This is why you get insurance! Please, if you have ever considered getting pet insurance, go with Trupanion. I don't know what I would have done without them, and even having to make a decision would have been mortifying. I don't care about referral links, and I won't be providing one. This is the first time I have ever been so behind a service that I've made a point to "review" them. They saved my best friends life.

9 Years of Excellence from Trupanion!
I have been a Trupanion policyholder since 2012. Without a doubt, they have been a life saver and have served me and my cat family with nothing but outstanding care. The most recent example of Trupanion's excellent service just occurred a few minutes ago. One of my cats had to be seen at a veterinary specialist for an echocardiogram and abdominal ultrasound. The specialists submitted the claim directly to Trupanion and Trupanion reviewed and paid the claim in under 5 minutes. Yes, you read that correctly....under 5 minutes. We are so grateful to Trupanion (based in Seattle, Washington)--they employ extremely competent and empathetic people. Thank you!!

Best service / fast reimbursement
We have had our fair share of flare ups with our 10 month old dog. Anywhere from upset stomach (which included blood tests, mediation, etc) to his hospitalization (2.5 days) was covered 80%. It allowed us to think that was best for our dog vs getting overwhelmed with financials and worrying about making the payment. This company cares so much that they sent us a separate email just asking how our dog is doing since we were sending through so many bills. The app is super easy to use. You take a picture of your receipt and the deposit straight into your account. I’d recommend this company a million times over.

I have been using pets best for my cat…
I have been using pets best for my cat for years. I was happy with it until I found out that the company was taking more money out of my account of several more dollars than I was quoted. I tried to contact pets best and had no success contacting anyone waiting 30 minutes on hold for customer service. A recording gives the excuse that their are less agents due to covid! Come on I have been and am out there working all through this pandemic. I am very dissatisfied with pets best now.

Healthy Paws Insurance is the Best!
Our dog Bernie had to have surgery for a tumor on his eyelid. We submitted the claim to Healthy Paws, and our check was sent to us in just over a week. Submitting a claim to Healthy Paws couldn't be easier, and they are fast and efficient for their customers! We have had Healthy Paws insurance for both of our dogs for several years now, and have submitted a few claims for each dog. We have never been disappointed with our choice! Healthy Paws is an excellent company, and we highly recommend them!!
