This is a must have insurance

It is so easy to file for the claim. I usually have the vet notes, receipt and send them an email. They send me the check back. I am pleased on how much of the cost they cover - ranges from 80% to 90%. I bought the policy that covers the most. Totally worth the money. I encourage pet lovers to get the insurance because illness do happen.

Great way to be able to afford having a dog.

When it comes right down to it, I break even with the price of the insurance. But it is a great comfort to know if something really bad would happen I would be able to take care of it and not have to put my baby down. I recommend Nationwide pet insurance to every one and any one that will listen. I am so great full for this insurance.

Please don't make the same mistake STAY AWAY keep researching

I am so ashamed of myself for signing up for this pet insurance. I have been paying on my policy for almost a year. I needed to file a claim for my cat as she was throwing up. I took her to the vet hospital they really did not find anything wrong with her. They did give her some medicine as they felt she may be having a problem with defecating. My cat had this problem around 3 years ago but the vet did not find anything that was causing this. She said she may have eaten something that caused this. Of course, when I submitted my claim to FIGO they denied it as they stated that this was a precondition that was not covered. My total vet bill was $932. I agreed to the additional testing as I thought I was covered under this insurance plan. Big mistake!!!! When I called the lady would not provide me the legal address to provide to my attorney nor would she provide me anyone else to speak with. She stated that she was the only person in the office. I asked to speak with her manager and of course, they were not available. This is a typical insurance response when they do not want to payout. She kept tel me that they do payout for services and recently paid a $20,000 claim. HA HA HA, what was that the one claim for the year and this has been added to your script to defuse customers? Cats get sick and mine does about every 6 months or so but it passes. Their response was as follows: "Cat has a history of intermittent vomiting and constipation over the last 2 years. She has episodes about every 6 months where she will be straining to defecate and will produce either nothing or large dry fecal balls. She always vomits and cries during the days when she is sick. Chronic intermittent vomiting, constipation, anorexia, +/- diarrhea" But this is not covered as they consider this as a precondition prior to taking out my policy. Again, they have no intention of paying anything out and they expect their payment every month on time. Think the only way you could get a claim is that it has to be a newborn with no problems and then maybe they will payout something but like most insurance companies they will find a loophole. Please I beg you not to make the same mistake I did. I am so ashamed and embarrassed I allowed myself to be taken advantage of.

I do appreciate the service your company provides. I was concerned, initially, over the time my response was taking, but your email informing me of the delay helped. I am impressed with Pet Insurance companies' efforts to enable adequate pet care, but I do feel that "rescued pets" are at a disadvantage because they come to us with "prior conditions" and sometimes limited prior knowledge of conditions that keep them from receiving full benefits of insurance coverage. They, often times, are the most in need of coverage. I would hope this fact would never prevent a rescue. I would be interested in knowing if this "imbalance" has ever been addressed by your company. Sincerely, Carole Raasch

Follow up on their reply: please see how they act like they care but as you can tell this is a typical insurance companies response. They all try to act so concerned but really they just want that monthly premium. Please don’t be fooled by their response. Save your money and go with a different company. I have learned my lesson that’s for sure.

Painless process

While I learned more about the mischievous nature of f cats, I must say that this claim process was really painless. I am impressed.

Healthy Paws Highly Recommend

Our dog had tests, surgery and meds - EXPENSIVE. We did not expect it but Healthy Paws covered most of the costs! We chose well because Healthy Paws was truly there for us when we needed them most.
