YOU'RE BETTER OFF PAYING OUT OF POCKET
I'm convinced all these 5 star reviews are fake. This company has denied all but one claim by trying to say it was a preexisting condition. They will label ANYTHING they can as a preexisting condition just so they won't pay it. They literally told me "A lot of people get denied." The first claim they denied is because they said that "the vet used the exact same medication to treat a UTI previously so your claim is denied now because he has a stress induced cystitis flair up." The UTI was treated with an antibiotic and a pain killer. The cystitis a month later was treated with a pain killer so they called it the same. The vet even noted in their medical record the second one was due to stress. I let that go but I shouldn't have. A few months later, out of the blue, my same cat got blocked and I had to rush him to the vet. They found it was just a mucus plug. They flushed it out and had him stay in the hospital for 3 days. They prescribed him Prazosin just in case for when he went home. **PRAZOSIN IS COVERED IN PETS' BESTS OWN LIST OF MEDICATIONS - NO WHERE DOES IT SAY ON YOUR PAPERWORK THAT A NEW MEDICATION WILL BE DENIED FOR BEING RELATED FOR A SUPPOSED PRE-EXISTING CONDITION.** My cat has never taken this medication before! This all came to about $1780. I paid $800 to the vet up front to the do the procedure and the prescription, and the vet filled out a reimbursement form for the balance because THE VET said "He had not be hospitalized before, nor had a plug before so they shouldn't have a problem reimbursing this." It took over 30 days for any of these claims to be looked at. LO AND BEHOLD, TODAY, EVERYTHING WAS DENIED. They told me it was a preexisting condition all because it related to the same body part. Yes. First they tell me it's because the medication was the same, now they're telling me it's because it's the same body part. Then they tell me if I want to dispute it, it'll take AN ADDITIONAL 60 DAYS TO BE REVIEWED. YES, 90 DAYS TO GET A YES OR NO. Meanwhile you're expected to make monthly payments and pay the vet because they will not wait long for their money. DON'T END UP LIKE ME! I'M POSTING MY REVIEW EVERYWHERE SO PEOPLE CAN SEE. I'VE COMPLETELY WASTED MY TIME AND MONEY ON THIS COMPANY.

Huge Help to our dog and our budget!
We couldn't be happier that we decided to purchase Nationwide for our dog when we got him as a puppy! He has struggled with some health issues (allergies, seizures that were cured, dog bronchitis, etc.) Between our super vets and Nationwide, Boji is a healthy, happy dog in a family who loves him dearly!

Efficient Process & Quick Response Time
Claim notices and turnaround time for payments used to be fairly long with not much communication in between submittal and receiving payment. Since the message was sent out months ago communicating the changes being made to the processes, there has been significant improvement all around. Good work!

Everyone is soo helpful. And happy! I have never had a bad experience.
I love having our insurance with you guys. The staff no matter who or when you call are really always happy and they help you with a thousand questions ( which I always seem to have ) if I have to say one not so great thing is they never contact you by phone only by email when they need info which is fine for most people but I do not have email on my phone or even look everyday so I would wish they would call me when they need something but other than that the customer service is stellar and the rates are good.
