As advertised, THANK YOU TRUPANION!!

For many that are contemplating pet insurance for your beloved 4 legged family member, please read this. I've been with Trupaion for over a year now and spent about 20 hours researching pet insuarance plans/companies before choosing Trupanion. As with many things, we don't truly know if a person or company with follow through with what they say until it's time to put those words into action. My young 2 yr old cat(Mickey) had an accident which dislocated his tail. As is the case with most accidents or illness, it happened after my Vet of 10 years closed for the day.Trupanion covered 90% of the Vet bill, less the evaluation fee. The total bill was just shy of 3900.00.I received reimbursement of just shy of 3200.00. To my knowledge, Trupainon is the ONLY pet insurance company that reimburses 90% of costs that are after hours. Most might cover 70%. 20% is a huge amount as after hours costs are exceedingly higher than our normal Vet costs. When choosing an insurance company, this was a key reason for choosing Trupanion. I received my reimbursement within 30 days of sending in my first claim. Certainly no complaints there!! I never got the song and dance from Trupaion. My file on Mickey was up to date which makes the process allot easier.Each person I spoke with through this challenging time was genuinely concerned for the health of my Cat. Glad you asked.

I was not happy with the way my claim was handled with Petie in Dec. 2010. I had insurance with you in the past, canceled and decided to try again. You received my claim on 12-3-10, and after approx. 2 weeks I called to see what the status was. I was told that you were waiting for my vet to send info. and you (ASPCA) would fax them a notice again(why did I have to call to get this initiated?) A few days later I called to see if you received the info. The rep. said no. So I called my vet and she said she sent everything you needed several weeks ago, but would fax the info to you again. I called and your rep still didn't get it. I asked my vet to send ME the copies, I sent them in myself, and my claim finally got done 1-7-11. It seemed you had the documents from my vet, all along, but for some reason the rep couldn't find them. After all that, you only reimbursed me $20. I filed an appeal and won, that happened in a few days. Now, you are not paying anything on my second cat pumpkin for the same thing. On this claim, I did get e-mails throughout the process notifying me of what was going on with pumpkin's claim. I will appeal this one and if I do not win, I will cancel. This is ridiculous that I have to go through all this. Thank you for listening. Kim

Excellent coverage

Pet's Best has excellent coverage and reimbursement. My claims were paid within 1 week. Customer service reps are friendly, helpful and seem to be very caring. I am very pleased I have this policy.

Necessary

My Golden Retriever now 16 months has had a few medical issues since getting pet insurance. Lucky for me it has already paid for itself within the first 4 months of receiving the plan; not that you want to have to use the insurance....but to me it's well worth it, as health insurance continues to rise.

2nd TPLO Surgery Completed

I would like to thank Trupanion again for the help they have provided to my loving pet, Isla, and I as we went through Isla's 2nd TPLO surgery within 5 weeks. We are 1 1/2 weeks post 2nd surgery now and she is recovering amazingly well, with hardly a noticeable limp! Isla is a 3 year old lab retriever cross and we can now look forward to many more active years together. Elk Lake Vet hospital where she had both surgery performed gave high compliments to Trupanion as being one of the best companies to deal with. Without Trupanion this would have been an even more traumatic situation to deal with; however, with their support it has been as painless for Isla and I as possible. Thank you so much Trupanion, again!!! Every pet owner should have Trupanion pet insurance!!!!

what a blessing

I never considered pet insurance before but after bringing a dog with papers from out of state to Alaska, thought I would try it for the first year. Turns out we really needed when faced with $7500 worth of hip dysplasia surgeries. I didn't believe I actually got reimbursed before my credit cards were due! I have thanked my two vets for helping.

SHEISTY!!!!!!!!

Submitted 1st claim which took longer than the time frame that is advertised on web site, submitted claim, invoice showing payment and services rendered and after 3 days was told a request was made to vet for medical records. When I contact vet I was told that NO request was received or made by Pet Best, finally I was informed that the claim was denied the records received showed the condition (skin) was pre=existing and became infected. The physician denied such....I'm not sticking around to continue paying premiums with future claims to be denied for whatever reason they decide to come up with......

I tried to work with these people

I was really confused reading the reviews on Embrace, which are almost all glowing 10 out of 10, extolling the best-ever, kind, compassionate, helpful service. I wondered what I had done wrong...but every now and then I found a review that told a story identical to mine -- we complied with every bit of paperwork when applying but then the questioning and designation of pre-existing conditions started, and reps were asking for my pet's file when it had been faxed to them 2 weeks earlier. My wife and I decided to cancel our policy -- at least Embrace gave us a partial month's credit, so we were out $140 rather than $200. However, I had no confidence that a large claim would be covered, because claims adjusters would start looking through my pet's file to find something to call a pre-existing condition in order to deny our claim

Prompt attention to my claim

I always get a fast response on my claims. However, I am having trouble with my Vet's office filing my claims and the necessary information concerning my Jack's treatment. I received my reimbursement right away for my wellness claim, but the office did not forward his medical records which caused me to lose my reimbursement for some allergy meds he was prescribed. I may be looking for a new Vet that will accommodate my needs.

Excellent service and most comprehensive coverage

I shopped around quite a bit before I bought, and this was the most comprehensive coverage I could find. They are the only company I've seen that will at least consider coverage for a pre-existing condition if the pet goes symptom free for a year. They are also extremely service based, offering top notch customer service, and very fast, friendly responses! They go above and beyond, which is rare in the insurance industry.
