Very Sneaky and cutting corners. Many appeals

BEST RATE: YES. SNEAKY SHORTCUTS: YES CUTTING CORNERS: YES Basically, they will try every way possible to not cover some stuff on your bill. LIKE ANESTHESIA on a surgery ( as if it wasn't essential to perform surgery). Believe it or not. I have done an appeal for every claim. So it is a hassle to get the reimbursement they promised.

The worst experience ever

The worst experience ever! ZERO stars! My cat was hospitalized for bleeding from his mouth, when it occurred for the first time ever, which is clearly stated in his medical documentation. He was diagnosed with an extremely aggressive cancer (oral squamous cell carcinoma) with a median survival rate of 87 days. I did not get reimbursed for ANYTHING because - according to Pets Best - "stomatitis and hyperthyroidism" were pre-existing conditions. He was hospitalized (and diagnosed) for CANCER, and not stomatitis and hyperthyroidism... As an example: the claim for the histopathology exam - to diagnose which kind of oral cancer my cat had - was denied due to a "pre-existing condition"!!!!!!!! He was never diagnosed with cancer before and if he had had oral squamous cell carcinoma at the time I got the insurance for him, he would have been dead long ago. The entire experience has been outrageous and offending. I regret bitterly ever choosing this company. The wait on the phone to talk to a customer service representative takes hours, making it practically impossible to get any information. This is not the worse pet insurance I have dealt with, but one of the worse companies that I have ever dealth with!

Otis had a seizure

In December 2020, my dog had a grand mal seizure & subsequently passed away 2 weeks later. Healthy Paws pet insurance said it was a wellness check & declined my claim. Are you kidding .. no protection from them at all!

Best for the price

Pets Best has been great! Their claim processing time is a little bit long (2-3 weeks) but it's accurate and I haven't had any issues with things being covered. Their price was the best by far, especially for my older dog. Very happy with their service!

I cannot find the words to fully praise…

I cannot find the words to fully praise Figo Pet Insurance, but I’ll try my best. I have a (just turned) 4 year old Pug. Her name is Bug. The day I brought her home, I got pet insurance for her through Figo. I knew I was going to go with Figo because I did much research and found they had the best reviews/reports through CR and the BBB and at a very reasonable monthly cost. (I chose the $10,000 yearly coverage with 90% reimbursement.) Fast forward to 3 1/2 years later. She started having mid-back to hind feet spasms regularly. She wouldn’t/couldn’t walk and was attacking her back paws as if they didn’t belong to her. If I tried to touch them, she would attack my hands. This is very unlike her, as she’s not a biter. Off to the vet for X-rays, but nothing was found. They suspected nerve issues. After 2 months of weekly acupuncture, canine massage, PEMF treatments, and 4 different meds 2x/day, she wasn’t really getting better. So off we went to the neurologist for an MRI. Turns out Bug has a congenital condition that affects her spinal cord from the thoracic area on down. She’s holding her own now on all the correct medications and an at-home exercise program. Figo has lived up to their reputation and exceeded it, in my opinion! I could never have afforded all of her treatments without them. Plus it’s so easy! I use the app to file her claims for her vet fees, medications, etc. Within 3-5 business days, 90% of what I paid out is directly deposited back into my bank account. My baby, Bug, means the world to me, and without Figo I would never have been able to afford her medical care. I’m so happy I made the choice to go with Figo Pet Insurance 4 years ago. I’ve even recommended Figo to friends and clients, who have chosen, and are extremely satisfied with, Figo as well.

We lost our dog last year to cancer and…

We lost our dog last year to cancer and unfortunately I didn't have insurance. It was a large vet bill. So when we adopted a new puppy, I checked with friends who have pets and asked if they had insurance. They did, with Trupanion and offered me excellent reviews. So I signed up!

I have tried calling for months…

I have tried calling for months regarding claims that I have submitted and NO ONE answers. There is no customer support email addresses, so I send them issues I have with their so-called "claim findings" to the claims department with no response. Now they needed to check with the vet for records and it was a specialist the vet referred us to. I told them the real vet and then another email saying they need to get the records from that vet, dragging the process out longer. Typical insurance, doesn't mind taking your money, but use every excuse to avoid paying anything.
