Be careful with Spot Pet Insurance. I used Spot Pet Insurance for years but when we rehomed one of our dogs (went to my mother in law, in great hands) I tried to cancel my insurance for him and spent so much time in the portal to no avail. I had to call, sit through loops, ended up connected with an AI agent (why didn't I get that from the start? why couldn't that have been a simple chat in the portal?) I learned they don't have an online cancellation option - at all. This kind of setup feels intentionally inconvenient and not customer-friendly. I’d think twice before signing up unless you’re comfortable dealing with cancellation hurdles.

Healthy Paws has saved both my dogs!
Healthy Paws has literally saved both our Golden Retrievers by helping to pay for major treatments and surgeries for a splenic tumor and breast tumors that we otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford. Their customer service has always been very helpful and friendly. Submitting claims is quick and easy, and payment of claims is very prompt. Both of my children have insured their pets (two dogs, one cat) with Healthy Paws based on my excellent experiences with the company.

$9,500 Surgery - Freshly One Year Old Puppy
$9,500. My FRESHLY ONE YEAR OLD Yoshi, developed a pretty aggressive limp early on in his growing phase. We hoped and hoped he'd grow out of it, but after many many vet visits, x-rays, PT, we found out through a CT scan that he'd developed elbow displasia, and required surgery to mostly-fix. After my per-condition deductible had been met, which only took one visit and an x-ray (about $800 out of pocket.) Trupanion stepped in and started covering up to 90% of the bills. The CT alone was $3500 and the surgery ended up being around $6000, we paid all the things we were expected to, exam fees, 10%, etc., and I cannot explain just how thankful I am that after much research, I picked this company. Because of Trupanion, my ONE YEAR OLD puppy is freshly out of surgery and recovering well, we're on day five of recovery and he seems to be doing well. Just remember the per-condition deductible feels like it sucks sometimes, BUT IT DOES NOT, when you have a dog like ours, we have to bring him in for different things that sometimes don't stick to one per-condition deductible. So sometimes it feels like you're just paying for everything, but its the cost of being covered, and its worth it. Take some peace in knowing that once you hit that deductible, you will be taken care of. NO HASSLE to cover, NO HASSLE to pay, pick this company for peace of mind. You will not regret it, I promise you. Worth every. Single. Penny. Don't think "it wont happen to me" it might.
