Healthy Paws is AWESOME! A+...

Healthy Paws is much better than I could have ever imagined a pet health insurance company could be. My Pit Bull tore her ACL at a dog park. The surgery cost thousands of dollars. The Healthy Paws check arrived to me in less than a week after the surgery. Their customer support people were very caring and knowledgeable. They literally spent hours with me on the phone over my concern about having this surgery done to my young dog. Healthy Paws was really incredible. I will use them for life.

The best Pet insurance compnay!

I enrolled my dog in Healthy Paws after I got burned by the last insurance company I was dealing with. I have to admit I was a little skeptical because the company is fairly new and I did not want to be taken in again. Every time I called with any type of questions that I had someone was always there to answer and make sure I completely understood the answers. I have only been with them since January so my coverage is still new. Two days ago my dog got sick, he was pooping and throwing up all over the place. I called his local vet and the Dr. was out at a conference until Friday, so they recommended I take him the the ER, I hesitated because I knew that taking him to the ER would run me a couple hundred bucks. So before I left I called Healthy Paws and right away someone answered the phone. I wanted to make sure that the visit would be covered. They told me exactly what would be covered and they even faxed the claim form directly over the the Animal Hospital for them to fill out. So, after an examination, some blood work and medication it turned out my dog has pancreatitis which is really painful for him. I got the bill at the end of the visit and it was over $500. The next day I faxed the claim over to them first thing in the morning and since this was my first claim I also included his records from his normal Vet. After I faxed it I called them to see if they received it and they confirmed that they did and also told me the first claim usually takes the

not worth the dollars cost

Claim process is more burdensome than other agencies, less is covered and cost is high. Payment is quick when (and IF) claim is approved and processed

Fair and Responsive!

I have been an Embrace customer since 2007. My girl has had 3 bouts of "severe hemorrhagic gastroenteritis" at a cost of $1,500.00 or so each of the three visits to the 24 hour emergency clinic. (Of course the serious stuff always happens after regular vet office hours!) Both of my Goldens have had dermal masses removed this year at a cost of over $500.00 each. (Both benign, YEAH!) Never, ever did Embrace give me any kind of hassle. All claims were promptly paid in accordance with the policies I purchased. I have friends that have VPI and were very disappointed. I have, and would definitely again and again and again, recommend Embrace! Rarely does a company proactively contact you to keep you in the loop. A good company answers your questions promptly when asked. A great company, like Embrace, contacts you with answers before you have to call them! Keep up the good work!

Reimbursment for IVDD (Dachshund) $10,000 claim

Our 2.5 miniature dachshund had a cervical disk rupture and has been diagnosis with IVDD. We had a middle of the night emergency trip to the vet, followed by appointments with the neurologist specialists, a CT scan, surgery and over a week total in intensive care. Trupanion was really great with our claim. We were pre-approved for the surgery and all care prior. They sent the pre-approval within 12 hours which was great. All cheques were received in a week. They paid out the full 90% and there was very little deductions (consults etc). My only comment would be that if there was an option to pay slightly extra month so that Trupanion would also cover the government taxes on the total, we would go for that – as on a bill of over $10,000, taxes in British Columbia (12%) really add up. All in all, the experience was a 10 out of 10 and I can’t imagine not having the coverage as it allowed us to get the best service for our dog without worrying about the cost (who by the way, 2 weeks post surgery is 100% recovered, we are suppose to keep him very quiet for many weeks, but you can’t even tell he had major surgery). Thanks Trupanion.

Excellent Experience

The company reviewed the three claims relating to my dog's knee surgery within the timeline they had outlined during the initial customer service phone inquiry. The reimbursements were made within the timeline, and frankly, I was stunned at the simplicity of the program and the extent of the coverage. Unlike the human counterpart insurance quagmire, the process was seamless, timely, and our expectations were exceeded.

Good experience

Trupanion handled this claim pretty promptly. The detail of the check was easy to understand. My suggestion is that they should have included the cost of the office visits for this claim since they were only necessary due to the accident. These were not routine wellness visits.
