Pets best customer service sucks
Pets best customer service sucks. First, you wait on the phone FOREVER, I've waited on the phone for over 2hrs and never had a pick up. Claims will be denied for ANY reason, my dog has a hereditary condition and I insured him when I adopted him as a puppy. Pets best website claims they cover hereditary conditions. But due to a noting on my waiting period of his eyes being cloudy my claim was DENIED. They have no understanding of what a hereditary IS - meaning they are born with it and my puppy was born with this and they STILL denied the claim. Their customer service(when you FINALLY get ahold of them) is rude and unhelpful. They also didn't reimburse me the full amount for a wellness plan on my other dog and made a mistake, I had to keep calling and calling and calling I finally got ahold of someone and they said oh it looks like we made a mistake, I will submit an appeal for you. She submitted an appeal on 11/8/2020 and they reviewed and sent me the funds on 03/08/21. Ridiculous wait time, especially for this being THEIR error. Also, I had their top plans for both my pets, so I was a good cash cow for them which is MY mistake. I regret ever signing up with pets best and want to warn future customers to avoid this company at all costs.

Easy to sign up and understand options
I just signed up our King Charles spaniel for insurance. Easy to sign up and the assistant helped me understand the options.

Not really a good choice
I got some bad customer service, tooks more than a week to hear anything about my claim. Even though they cover visits and medication, they denied it. No point in paying for the insurance if they are not going to help pay expenses when you need them.

I have been very happy with Embrace pet insurance. I shopped a lot for a policy and felt most satisfied with Embrace. Since my cat has been insured with Embrace they have been most accommodating, have great customer service, and have honored their claims promptly.

Terrible insurance coverage
Terrible insurance coverage. Would definitely look elsewhere for pet insurance. I got the 30 day certificate after registering my pet with the AKC. The first claim was denied because the coverage started a day after - fine, I understand that one. The problem cleared up completely, but came back a couple weeks later. I took my pet back to the vet and the problem fell into the “recheck” window. They don’t make you pay full price for an illness check if it’s within a certain amount of time. The claim was denied this time due to “pre-existing” condition, even though the problem was resolved after the first vet visit. It seems like this insurance is going to find any reason to not reimburse. The price of insurance is very high compared to other places (and a lot of companies offer pet insurance now) and considering I haven’t had a good experience, I won’t be renewing it. For the price they charge, I would expect better coverage. I would personally recommend finding another company.
