Best Pet Insurance

So glad that I decided years ago to purchase Pet Insurance coverage for my dog. Trupanion's claims process is so easy and fast, and now that I can have my animal hospital submit the claim BEFORE I leave their hospital, nothing could be easier! My dog has better coverage than I do!

I am so appreciative of the ongoing commitment

Molly has a number of medical concerns which require Veterinary evaluation, interventions and frequent monitoring/follow-up. Providing quality care for Molly has always been a priority. Applying for insurance for Molly was one of the best decisions we have ever made. Molly is a very special member of our family!

They will do EVERYTHING they can to NOT pay you.

This was the worst insurence I have ever had. My dog was extremely sick with bloody stool and if I didn't qualify for care credit my dog would have been screwed. It took over 3 months to get everything some documents I sent then 2 or 3 times because they "didnt" get them. At the end of me fighting with them they somehow linked it back to a pre existing condition of puppy direah and didn't pay me.they will literally do everything they can to not pay you do not go with them they are absolutly aweful and they don't care about you or your animal. I had everything I could purchase from them and they did nothing for me.

Healthy Paws saved my bank account!

I cannot say enough about Healthy Paws Pet Insurance. Our 2 year old chocolate lab just had to have major intestinal surgery because he ate a piece of a tennis ball that got stuck in his small intestine. The total cost was over $3500 and we are only paying about $550 ($250 to meet our deductible and then everything was covered at 90%). It gave us such piece of mind knowing that we could commit to having the surgery done without being worried about the cost. It was already a very stressful and emotional time, and it was great to not have to worry about the final bill. Healthy Paws processed our claim within a few days and the reimbursement checks are on their way to us already! I always knew that having pet insurance (especially for a lab) was important, but after this incident, I'm a believer more than ever. THANK YOU Healthy Paws!

A Life Saver! Glad we got the coverage!!!!

Our late Dane had passed & we were never able to get her insurance due to an existing condition (HOD) - when we rescued our newest puppy, we jumped on it immediately. We did contemplate if it was worth it & just didnt' want to chance it & after doing the math with our previous Dane- it worked out to be a wise decision! And after our first 3-4 months of having him - YES it was absolutely worth getting coverage! He somehow was able to swallow 4 of his toys ( not small ones either- & without choking!) We had no clue until he was showing symptoms of bloat. A rush to the ER & then a week in the hospital, xrays & an emergency surgery- to find out it was toys & an almost $7000 bill! Yes, we were extremely thankful to have coverage. We got the claim back lickety split & I am forever grateful to have found such a wonderful company such as Embrace! Our little dude is alive & we our claim came faster than I expected! The wellness program is definitely well worth it as well! We Love Embrace !!! I can't thank you guys enough! Friendliest company I've ever dealt with!

My dog's still alive

I've worked in the veterinary field for over 12 years, and currently work in an Internal Medicine specialty service. I am amazed at how the insurance industry has changed veterinary medicine. Clients and patients are able to afford medical treatments that prior to insurance they couldn't which often led to euthanasia of a family member. I have told many people over the years to get insurance for their pets, and fortunately I eventually took my own advice. I originally got pet insurance for my pets because of an HR benefit from a family member. It was another insurance company and I had a horrible experience. It took over 3 months for a claim to be paid, and took a lot of back and forth between the company, the veterinary clinic and myself. During this experience, I spoke to some of the receptionists at the veterinary hospital I work for to see what their opinions were on the best insurance company. They overwhelming told me Trupanion was the easiest, quickest, and best. I decided then to sign up my dog first, until I completed the claim with the other company for my cat's bill. This was the best decision I could have made. My dog, Luna, has had some issues with skin allergies throughout her life. Other than that, she was pretty healthy dog. About 1 month after getting Trupanion insurance, I noticed she was lethargic, and didn't want to eat her food. She's a food hound, so I brought her into work right away. She was admitted as soon as I took her in. Her red blood cell level was 16%, normal is over 35%, and she had no platelets. I was shocked that I didn't even realize she was so sick. How did I miss the clues? It turned out that she has an Auto Immune disease where her body attacks her red blood cells and platelets. She was in the hospital for 5 days, with 2 blood transfusions, and was started on some pretty major medications. Her initial bill was well over $4000, and that was with my employee discount. We spoke to a rep from Trupanion on the first day that she was in the hospital and they review her medical records and preapproved her within 24 hours of the initial contact! Once the final bill was completed, I submitted my first claim ever with them. I was very skeptical given my ongoing experience with the other insurance company. When the first check came within a week of her being home, I was shocked! Trupanion didn't try to 'weasle' their way out of reimbursement, and covered everything! It really did take a huge weight off my sh

Outstanding Company!

I am a repeat customer. My cat, Tigger, was insured by ASPCA. He developed a rare form of carcinoma and passed away. The bills were steep. ASPCA took care of the claims in a timely manner - no fuss or hassle. I received a phone call from a rep expressing their condolences. Their compassion took me by surprise, but was most welcome. I adopted Magic, a 9 yr old longhair cat a couple of months later. First thing I did was to inquire with ASPCA as to whether he was too old to insure and he was not. FANTASTIC!Within a couple of months Magic began to experience severe wheezing and coughing fits. The vets did tests and found he had an irritation in his bronchial tubes. Of course there were several tests to arrive at a definitive answer and they were quite pricey. I submitted the claims and within a couple of weeks the claims were paid. All throughout the process the ASPCA insurance company communicated with me via email letting me know the status of the claims. WOW! A company I didn't have to pester to get the information I needed - this is heaven! I would recommend this company to anyone who treats their pets like family. This company goes above and beyond to help their clients.

This company is awesome !

I was adopted by a little, lost kitten 2 years ago. He was fine the first year, but in year 2 he developed bladder stones that almost killed him. The vets got him thru the crisis (Thank God!!) but I was saddled with HUGE bills. I asked my vet about pet insurance (in case of future emergencies) and he said that his employer subsidizes Trupanion for all employees. That impressed me. I thought that with "pre-existing" issues it was likely my cat was uninsurable. However, I explored and compared insurances and decided to go with Trupanian. I KNEW they would not cover matters related to his previous condition but I wanted coverage for any future emergencies. Their policy is well documented and easy to understand. I like that the owner is responsible for wellness care. I like that I have control of my deductible/coverage. Unfortunately, my cat had another emergency this year. He was critical once more but with another ailment. However, he rallied with the excellent care of his vets once again. Trupanion kept me apprised of his claims regularly. I knew when they received the claim, if they needed information from the vet, the results of the claim and how much I would be reimbursed. If a procedure was not covered, I was advised of that AND where it is in their policy literature. These people are ROCK STARS!! Without their excellent coverage and prompt resolution, I would have to make a very difficult decision about my pet. I simply cannot afford exorbitant bills even though I love this little guy with all my heart. Friends tell me that my cat is lucky to have me. Well, I'm lucky to have him AND Trupanion.
