Outstanding customer service
I don't believe that there is another pet insurance company that could do as well as Healthy Paws. They are quick, efficient, and helpful. They make submitting a claim an easy process. They are committed to their customers and the high quality of their service.

Amazing company that consistently performs incredibly
I have two German Shepherds that Healthy Paws has insured since they were puppies. I cannot say enough positive things about Healthy Paws. When one of my dogs came down with cancer, Healthy Paws paid for his surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy. There was never any problem in receiving reimbursement and they always paid within a few days of receiving my bills. My other dog has back problems, and, again, Healthy Paws stepped up 100%. He receives regular acupuncture treatments which the company promptly reimburses within a few days of submission. I use the electronic submission which makes the whole process incredibly easy. I have recommended Healthy Paws to all of my friends !

*****WARNING******** Do your research before signing up with this company . You sign up at what you feel is a good fair/competitive rate to only realize later that once your are enrolled then they have you …then they gradually increase your rate every year . And not by a couple of dollars but substantially , and then say it’s because of the increased vet rates in your area and claims !?!? It hasn’t changed here in years !! And as a client you also have to get to a min $ amount on a claim before you can access a claim and then on top of that you also have to pay a deductible?? We’ve been with Trupanion for 3 yrs and our rate started out with $48 /month , then it went up to $65 , then a yr later $83 , now we just received notice again by email, not even the common courtesy of a phone call , that it’s going up again to $103 / month Not one claim have we made and when we called to discuss this …they don’t care !!! I think they use the low rate to get you enrolled and then figure you’ll just bite the bullet and stay even with the increases . I’m sure some people do as it may seem a risk to your pet to leave and a hassle to get new coverage .That’s how we felt but no more . Also I have a feeling it may be bc as your dog gets older they increase your rate but they won’t admit that and will say it’s bc of another factor . Anyway we are done . Trupanion please don’t reply saying your sorry etc , like you do in all the other negative comments bc you don’t care about your clients pets …only their money !!

Does not pay for dental work even if you have dental plan
My dog needed dental cleaning and after the anesthesia and x-rays, the dentist told me that there were some teeth that needed to be removed. Even thought I have the dental plan, Pets Best did not pay and do not answer the phone. Very disappointed, looking for new insurance for my 3 dogs.

TRUPANION IS OUR ANGEL!
I tell everyone that I know who has pets about Trupanion. I no sooner send the bills in and before I know it they are paid! Not just that, Trupanion's customer service is truly outstanding! They are very knowledgeable and caring and they all love animals and show it. My dog has reoccuring UTI's and if I did not have Trupanion, I may have had to relinquish my Oreo because I could not afford the continuing issues with her health and the cost as I am living on a fixed income. It would be devastating because she is my BEST friend and companion, I have noone else near. Thank you Trupanion and God Bless!

Months of calling; claim never submitted...
Cat had to be taken to the emergency vet for a skin condition, end the end everything turned out okay. I filed my claim and it was denied a couple of weeks later. I look as to why and it said that there were multiple tries to contact the vet for the records. I called my vet, they said they sent them in. So when I refiled my claim, I uploaded the records from the vet instead. Same result: denied. Called PetsBest and it turns out they were looking for vet records from a vet I went to over a year ago. I release the records to them and they said that they have re-submitted the claim on their end and I should hear back within a week. A week comes and goes so I call back a few times and they say it is still processing. A month later I call again. The rep tells me that it takes time, but I won't hang up until she has spoken to someone higher up. Turns out, they had never resubmitted my claim in the first place! I was told multiple times that it was still pending, but it hadn't even been submitted! Same day I get an email that it has been submitted and a few hours later I get an email confirming they accepted my claim; literally months of waiting and many phone calls and gaslighting later...

Quick and Easy
I've had Healthy Paws for both of my puppies. Unfortunately, both suffered injuries requiring some extensive test and treatment. Submitting claims was quick and easy. Their communication is great and claims get processed and paid out very quickly! Knowing I had this coverage made caring for my babies easier.
